Dear Sandi McCraw!
I teach in a secondary school in Luebbecke, in the North-West of Germany. There are about 110 students in grade 8 of whom I teach 26 students in Geography (biligual) and English (my third subject is German). My class has been learning English in an intensive course for three years so far.
I would be very intersted in setting up communication lines between our students (the math's teacher might like to join; a second bilingual class, 27 students, might be interested, too).
My class took part in a computer course and will deepen knowledge next year.
Our school is the only secondary school in town and has got about 1000 students (grade 5 to grade 12/13).
The pupils come from Luebbecke and also from villages nearby. It is a rural region; most students haven't experienced any kind of intercultural exchange.
Therefore, I, too, would like them to be exposed to different cultures and discuss their education as well as normal "teen issues".
Because of the fact that our curriculum plans "the US and life in the US" (in comparison to Germany) as the topic of grade 8 in English, I am interested in an email-project or something similar. I am sure that there would be different focusses possible (linked to Georgraphy, Maths,...), too.
Hope to hear from you,
M. Karoline Verhoeven
