    Re: Teen ePals Wanted, USA

    Hi, Sandi!

I am a teacher of English and social studies at a junior high school in a small town in Norway. I teach 9th grade and there are two other teachers that also teach together with me. We have appr. 150 students. USA, politics and culture are some of the themes this year. I think, maybe, the students would have found it more interesting to learn if they could have asked someone themselves and if they could have practiced their language themselves. I think, maybe, that there have to be two students of mine colloborating with one student of yours...

    Hope to hearing from you!!

    Erik Isaksen.

    Re:Teen ePals Wanted, Germany

Dear Sandi McCraw! I teach in a secondary school in Luebbecke, in the North-West of Germany. There are about 110 students in grade 8 of whom I teach 26 students in Geography (biligual) and English (my third subject is German). My class has been learning English in an intensive course for three years so far. I would be very intersted in setting up communication lines between our students (the math's teacher might like to join; a second bilingual class, 27 students, might be interested, too). My class took part in a computer course and will deepen knowledge next year. Our school is the only secondary school in town and has got about 1000 students (grade 5 to grade 12/13). The pupils come from Luebbecke and also from villages nearby. It is a rural region; most students haven't experienced any kind of intercultural exchange. Therefore, I, too, would like them to be exposed to different cultures and discuss their education as well as normal "teen issues". Because of the fact that our curriculum plans "the US and life in the US" (in comparison to Germany) as the topic of grade 8 in English, I am interested in an email-project or something similar. I am sure that there would be different focusses possible (linked to Georgraphy, Maths,...), too. Hope to hear from you, M. Karoline Verhoeven

    Teen ePals wanted

Good Evening! I teach in an Early College in North Carolina. There are 75 students in our school (9th and 10th grades). I teach math, computers, and yearbook - this is the second year for our school. I would like to talk to teachers from other states and/or countries and try to set-up communication lines between our students. Our school is in a small community and many of our students have never traveled. I would like them to be exposed to many different cultures and discuss their education as well as normal "teen issues". Hope to hear from lots of you! Sandi McCraw
