Hi Lisa - I just saw your response! Sorry! Maybe we should exchange email addresses to communicate a little quicker. Mine is daronow@epals.com

I'm still interested in doing something togther. I have done voicethreads before. Email me with any ideas!

Some of mine are learning disabled too (I have a class within a class).  I think collaboration sounds wonderful.

Since you only have 15 kids and I have many more, I think direct ePalling might not work so well.  I am a bit concerned about the maturity of some of my kids with a blog though.

Have you ever done voice threads?  I haven't, but they might be a good way to do this project.

Lisa- I usually do Of Mice and Men with my juniors in the Spring. I could plan on doing it in March if you'd like to collaborate somehow. I only have about 15 students split into 2 different classes. Several of them are learning disabled, but can work really hard. They still have to meet New York State standards and pass the Regents exams.  I'd love to discuss any Of Mice and Men ideas with you!

Re: Of Mice and Men Ideas?, USA

    Hello to you both,

My sophomores will read M/M in March.  I can't move it this year, but possibly next year.  Diane - when are you doing yours?

I've seen blogs work really well - no contraints on when or how many kiddos need to be paired up.  I've never seen a virtual trial done before, but if you know how to make it happen, I'd be happy to see if it works in my lessons.

    Hi Jenny,

I do Of Mice and Men with my 11th graders. One year I did a trial with 2 of my classes. One class was the defense, one was the prosecution. We had a judge, jury, witnesses, etc. What about doing a virtual trial somehow? Our even just literature discussions through Skype, etc? When do you plan on reading it?

I will be reading this with my 10th graders in January and am interested in possibly doing a pen-pal setup.  Interested?
