Re: 8th grade Book ePALS Wanted, USA

If you havent already found a class to correspond with we would love to work with you.  My students are currently reading the Outsiders and have already read Ann Frank.  This would make for great discussions amongst the students.  Please let me know if you are still interested an we can get started asap.

    Thanks!

I've got 70 seventh graders here in Little Rock, AR. We read "The Outsiders" back in September and start Anne Frank on Monday. If you're interested in us, let me know!

    Best,

    Alice

I know your message was posted a while ago, but I was wondering if you are still doing any exchanges with the Outsiders? We are in Peetz, Colorado and wanting to work on something with our Jr. High students.

Hi! I am Angie Nelson in Greeley, Colorado. I teach 7th graders and I would like to email/talk to you about your ideas of holding literary discussions. Please contact me at angnelson@epals.com My school is made up of 50% Anglo, 50% Hispanic, so we might be a good match!

    Re:8th grade Book ePALS, Netherlands

I'm following a literature class myself now. I had to read The Outsiders last week. I'm not at all in the same age group as your students and I don't know if you've already found a class to correspond with but if not, I would like to have literature discussions with a few of yours. I'm not a native speaker of English so perhaps the age-gap could be more of less filled up by that. I'm reading Haroon and the Sea of Stories now. Next will be The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Warm regards, Maria

8th grade Book ePALS Wanted, USA

I teach approximately 120 regular 8th grade students in Oakwood, Georgia, USA. We are in a small town community northeast of Atlanta. The student population is diverse, with a 40% Hispanic population. Many of the students were born in the United States and have a middle to high proficiency with English. We are looking to correspond with another class on a semi-regular basis, perhaps once a month. Right now we are reading "The Outsiders" with a follow up of "That Was Then, This is Now", both by S.E. Hinton. After Christmas we will be reading "Out of the Dust" and "The Diary of Anne Frank." This is a Literature class, so we would like to focus on literary discussion rather than letter-writing techniques per se. The students are excited about this project and we hope to hear from you soon!
