    Re: Wearable Art

I am an art teacher in Australia. Another idea I got from a Russian born, USA  friend for wearable art that perhaps also touches on ephemeral art or at least notions of non attachment/attachment  is do cool screenprints on nice t-shirts and then donate to charity clothing shops. Maybe one would see their art work in years to come in an unexpected time and place. My friends' idea was that she would donate whilst on a road trip. For schools perhaps they could be posted or local.

    Kind regards, Jude.

    Re: Wearable Art

I am an Art teacher in the United States. I taught this lesson when I was teaching in a suburban school in Northeast Ohio. I have done a wearable art unit and fashion show at a Junior High School.  I located tuxedo dress shirts that a local company donated and we had one class design their own shirts.  They had to come up with a theme for their shirt and then could add anything they want to the shirts.   Another class created macrame belts, the last class brought in a pair of pants and designed them with the same criteria as the shirts.  We then had an artshow and fashion show at the end of the year for the parents.  The next year wasn't at the school but they did an edible art show.

    Hope this helps,

    Teresa

Hello. I teach English in an Art School  in Italy. It's a high School. We had a teacher last year that made sculpture jewelry. She's not working in our school at the moment, but I think that we can share ideas. We surely will be interested in seeing what you have created. COntact me please.

    Wearable Art

Hi, My name is Stephanie.  I am a multimedia and art teach at a high school in Australia.  I am currently doing a wearble art unit with my year nine classes.  Does anyone else do wearable art?  We are doing an Art Parade in a couple of weeks where students dress up in their creations.  I was wondering if there were any other art teachers who have done wearable art before or would like to do this unit and we could share ideas?

    Stephanie
