Re: 10 yo and 7 yo seek epals

    Hi,

I am a homeschool Mom to 4 children, 3 of whom are still homeschooled.  My daughter, Mary will be 10 in January (4th grade) and the youngest, Danny is 8 (he is dyslexic, and doesn't write at the moment, but would enjoy dictating letters).

It is funny that you mentioned Gettysburg and Valley Forge.  Both are not far from us!

Mary likes to try her hand at crafts, and we currently host a sewing class (the girls are working on skirts right now).   Danny likes to play with his action figures, and his siblings.

We have several animals:  chickens, rabbits, pot belly pigs, cats and a new dog.  My in-laws live with us, although my Mother in Law is currently in a nursing home in hopes of regaining her strength.

I just, today, found this site and hope to use it in our schooling, and to encourage my 3 still homeschooling to write!  (Ben will be 12 on Monday).

    Carla

    Hello Katie and Josh!

We are from New York and your interest and creativity certainly caught our attention. I am the proud parent of a 9 year old son in 4th grade and a 4year old Pr-k daughter. We would enjoy corresponding as my son is interested in meeting new friends around the world - and this website I believe would be ideal to keep touch.

Have a wonderful and joyful Thanksgiving!

I have two girls aged 10 qand 7 who are both just getting into emails and would love to write to people from all over the world.   Lucy is my eldest, she is 10 and also loves her history, especially Egyptian.  She is very active and likes all sports including ice skating, bike riding and has started learning circus skills.  She loves arts and craft activities, playing games and is always taking over my computer!  Bethany is 7 she loves animals, playing games and arts and crafts.  Lucy is a guide and Bethany a Brownie, I run the local Rainbow pack.

We live in a village in Shropshire, near the Welsh border in England.  We have two cats and a hamster.

Katie is 10 years old, in the 5th grade and on kidney dialysis. She just discovered email and would enjoy exchanging emails with anyone near her age from any place. She has many varied interests from computers to arts and crafts. She loves animals and bike riding and reading and she is a US history buff. She receives dialysis every night and has three hours from hook-up to bedtime that would be happily filled with emails!

Josh is 7 years old and in the 2nd grade. He is just learning to use the computer and would love to practice by writing emails to friends. He is a cub scout and he loves robots, pirates, cops and army guys, and animals.

We live in the Eastern US, and both kids love to visit historical sites. Gettysburg and Valley Forge are their current favorites. We'll visit Antietam in two weeks. Katie's hero is Abraham Lincoln and Josh's is George Washington. They have a wide variety of pets, from dogs to snakes. They're both excited at the prospect of new friends from all over!
