The Maine Department of Education has been in the forefront of integrating technology into classrooms statewide. Since 2001, the Maine Learning Technology Initiave (MLT) and the Maine International Center for Digital Learning have supported individual laptops and wireless access for all middle and high school students.  The availability of computers has opened a wide variety of avenues for Maine teachers.
