    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

    Hi Karen

    Nice name you have there!

We are a school on the east coast of India, near the Bay of Bengal.  Orissa is a very culturally rich state and our city is also known as 'The City of Temples' because we have over 1000 in our city alone, some of them dating back 1,000 years.

Our children of Class III (age 7/8) are also doing a travelling teddy bear project and been putting it together over the last couple of weeks.  I have three sections doing the same so that means 3 teddy bears to find 'holidays' for.  Would you like to send your bear to India and we could send one of ours back with him as a travelling companion?  We would love to have him.  We are only just getting started so it would be wonderful for them receive one too.

    My epals address is KarenXec@epals.com

Hope to hear from you soon

    Karen

    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

    Hi karen ,

What about a visit to France ? My first years would probably love welcoming your teddy bear for a while . We live in the west of France, next to the city of Nantes.

We start school on september 1st . If we got your teddy bear in the first month of school, it would be a fantastic incentive for my pupils. By the way, the 1st year are just out of primary school, so they're 10 , 11 ...

Let me know what you think at rossidavid@epals.com : my name is Isabelle Rossi-David.

    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

    Hi Hayley,

I tried to contact you directly at your epals account, but I never got a response. I'm thinking my message didn't get through. I hope you are still interested in hosting our bear. It would be great for him to visit New Zealand. Please let me know.

I'm still looking for other classes to host our bear.  He will be going to Italy in August, but I'd like to send him somewhere else when he gets back. I'd like to hear from anyone who is interested.

    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

    Hi Renee!

Thank you for responding to my request. I appreciate your invitation, but my project focuses on other countries, and I am interested in sending him outside of the US. I am an Okie myself, and I loved Oklahoma! We lived in OKC, Clinton, and Altus. We were clergy, serving several churches until we ended up in Florida. I am fascinated by Oklahoma's history.

We have done the Flat Stanley project before. Maybe as we get started with our school year (we beging August 10th) we can collaborate on that. Let's keep in touch!

    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

Hi Karen!  I am a 2nd grade teacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  I teach at Berryhill Elementary.  We would love to have your teddy bear in class with us.  I can send facts about the state of Oklahoma and what Oklahoma is mostly known for (Trail of Tears, 5 Civilized Tribes, tornadoes, etc..) along with him.  We can even dress him up like a cowboy!  If you are interested, let me know.  I am looking for teachers to participate in the Flat Stanley project too, so if you're interested in that let me know!  Have a great 09-'10 school year!

    Re: Traveling Teddy Bear

Hi Karen, I am a teacher at a school in New Zealand. Our school is in the South Island, called Ashley School. Ashley school is in North Canterbury, a farming community where most of the children live on farms, have lots of pets along with a spare acre of two. It is the land of the wonderful All Blacks and most importantly the Crusaders. I teach year 5/6 children,  but our year 1/2 class would love to host teddy and teach your children about the lovely country of New Zealand.  If you are interested you can reach them through me on my ePal address. I love forward to hearing from you.

    Traveling Teddy Bear

I teach 1st grade (ages 6-7) in Florida, USA. My class has a stuffed teddy bear who travels around the world visiting other classrooms and families. I would like to send him off again this year beginning in August. Theodore has been to Brazil, Spain, Ireland, Australia, and Paupa New Guinea. He is ready for a new adventure! My students enjoy learning about the places he visits, and they gain an understanding that there are people who live differently than us, but that we are the same in many ways. The best part about the project is the teacher friends I've made. Will you host our bear? I look forward to hearing from you.
