Re: Exchange postcards with georgian people

    Lina,

My 6th graders would be very interested in emailing and video conferencing this year, if you still need classrooms for this project.  Our school is in a suburban community near Birmingham, Alabama and we study 20th Century History.  I too would like to provide authentic experiences to keep my students engaged and to help them globally connect.

    Thanks,

    Nancy Turpen

    Exchange postcards with georgian people

My name is Lina and I am an English teacher in a rural, public Primary School in Georgia. My 5th-6th 7th -8thgraders are currently getting familiar with the email writing process and are looking forward to exchanging emails in English in the next school year (2009-2010). It will be a class of 15 learners, aged from 11 to 12. They are interested in finding out what it is like for their peers to live in other countries, their hobbies, customs, traditions... As for me, being their teacher, I aspire to improve their writing skills in English by engaging them in a real-life activity that they like. We prefer to correspond by email, at least once a month, and would love to arrange video conferences, provided of course that our school will be fully equipped for this next year. We, students and teacher, are enthusiastic about it and have been preparing since the current school year! We look forward to hearing from you!
