    Hello Kate!

Im Clay and i am first year classroom teacher of an 8th grade class in Durham,NC.Our school year begins at the end of August and i would really love to make some connections with classes to share how they see their world, looking at media and discussing current events. I would love to do ocassional meetings via skype as well as creating a forum on a wiki i am working on. If any of these things sound like something your class would be into please contact me.

    thanks,

Re: New Zealand class looking for epal classes to email

    Hello Kate,

I teach life science to 7th grade students (12-13) in New Jersey in the USA. Would love to do the global warming project with my students and some from New Zealand. Could you contact me or pass along my email msteneken@epals.com to anyone else who might consider working with us on the ePals project? We could begin in October if that works for you or any of your colleagues. Thanks and good luck!

    Marilyn Steneken

Re: New Zealand class looking for epal classes to email

    Hi Kate,

I teach the same age group in Ireland. We would love to become your e pals for the coming school year - beginning August 31st for us. My students are very enthusiastic and have regular access to a computer lab. They would love to tell our class all about life here in Cork. Cork is Ireland's second biggest city - although quite a deal smaller than other European cities! It was European capital of culture two years ago.

    Kind Regards,

    Sinead.

Hi Kate, my name is Jeremy Brumfield. I teach 3rd grade in Harrisburg, which is the state capital of Pennsylvania. I am also looking for a class of international penpals, where my students can practice and improve language arts and communication, while learning a bit about social studies and international culture. I think it would be great for them to start out as just pen pals but then to gradually build up to sharing assignments, projects, surveys, etc. Our school year starts at the end of August, and I wouldn't mind beginning right away.

If you were interested, let me know =)

My class webpage is: http://www.cdschools.org/5422125822102657/site/default.asp?, if you wanted to get a feel for my school.

    Dear Kate,

I'm awfully glad to communicate with your students  from Nelson, New Zealand.  My students are also aged between 9, 10 and 11 and I think we'll find the common topics for discussions and projects. We are from Russia and learn English. I'm a teacher of the English lesson. Please give me a reply.

    Besr regards,

    Valentina

Re: New Zealand class looking for epal classes to email

Hi, My name is Heather.  I teach 4th grade, 9-11 year olds in Inola, Oklahoma, US.  The closest major city is Tulsa, Oklahoma.  It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to get to that city.  Our school is out for summer break, but will be back in session Aug 21st.   I would be interested in becoming your epal, though it would take a week or so after school starts to have all the permission slips signed.  Our students go to the computer lab every day, so whatever frequency of communication you have in mind would be fine.
