    Re: Teachers Create Change blog

    Hi Shauna:

I'm a high school German/French teacher in Tiffin, Ohio.  I needed 6 credits to renew my teaching certificate so I decided to take a technology course on-line (on-line because it was half the cost of a regular course).  Because I am over 50, I am not very familiar with all of the technology out there.  I have used ePals for email exchanges.  I have had my students make videos and PowerPoints with audio files inbedded.  That is about the extent of my technology use.

I am about 75% finished with the course and I hate it.  I will never take another on-line course.  I feel that instead of giving you the resources, they want you to go out and find them on the web.  This results in long hours to finish the smallest assignment.  I am working 3-5 hours/day to finish this class before I start teaching on Aug 16.  Meanwhile, I still need another 3 credit hours before next June.  It will not be on-line!

On the positive side, I found under the teacher resources, a list of websites for google.docs that will help me a lot.  This is the type of information that I spend hours looking for.  I'm currently working on a chapter where I need to find social networking site that I could use in a foreign language classroom.  I thought of ePals right away but I need to come up with 3 more.  Any suggestions?

    Re: Teachers Create Change blog

Hi I just went to a conference on technology. I'm very interested into infusing the lastest technology into the class. I use smartboards and laptops.  I teach 7th and 8th grade. I want to use skype, create a wiki type page for kids to post their written work and multimedia projects. Is this the right site for me? I having a hard time figuring out how to use this? Any suggestions? Am I going in the right direction?

    Teachers Create Change blog

    http://teacherscreatechange.weebly.com/index.html

The purpose of this blog is for teachers to reach out and connect to create change in education today. I want to create a respectful environment where teachers may share their concerns as well as ideas about education.

I am currently a Master's student at Sacramento State University working towards my iMET (Internet Masters in Educational Technology) degree. I would like to utilize this blog for research on how technology can play an important role in bringing teachers together from all over the world with a shared vision in the hopes to make a difference in education today.

This blog will keep you updated on the latest news, important resources, and give teachers a place to come together to collaborate. So, where do we begin? Right here, right now!
