If you are able to walk to school that would be even better, because the more weight a vehicle holds, the more gas it uses to move. So if you could walk or ride a bike it would help the environment even more.

    Re: Global warming and industry

I understand what you say about global warming and I feel the same way.  There are a couple of TV programs on Discovery Channel (if I'm not wrong) that teach and show how things can be done in a way that the environment is not affected.  I think that governments should implement some laws so that industries don't effect so much of the environment.  The problem is, how we can contribute to this cause?

    Re: Global warming and industry

I think that the industry has a huge effect on global warming, if it exists. I, however, don't think it does due to the weather in my area. If we can't stop the industry, I don't think any of the talk of global warming will go away and the industry will continue to be blamed. We can't prevent any of this though because now to survive, we depend on the industry and if it goes away, we won't be able to survive.

I do not believe global warming is legitimate.  In Michigan, it keeps getting colder every year.

Carbon dioxide emission is the primary cause of global warming. Burnig coal, natural gas, diesel fuel, burning garbage, internal combustion engines burning fossil fuels (gasoline and diesel) and also aircraft traveling contribute to the huge amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. How can we prevent global warming if those activities help us and they are part of our industrial activities?

Everyone should start taking part in planting trees or recycling.

    Re: Global warming and industry

By simply riding the bus to school instead of using gas for one person can help.

    Re: Global warming and industry

Well, one thing we could do is to get the car dealership owners to pocket less money, and start spending on research for a more efficient car. They have already made cars with better gas mileage..... BIG DEAL!!! It's cool that we don't have to fill up our cars as much resulting in more money for ourselves, but either way you look at it we are still polluting!!! Not everyone can afford a $40,000 hybrid or pay a huge amount of money on public transportation (bus), heck some people can't even afford a car whatsoever! So everyone needs to stop whining about gas prices and go ride a bike where you need to go! That kills two birds with one stone, you get exercise and no more gas to buy!

Instead of driving to school, you could carpool with your best friend. Try riding your bike to school also. It saves gas and you get your exercise!

Hi.  I like your post because I like how it is talking about natural gas and how it explains how burning coal can cause carbon dioxide to be relased into the atmosphere.

    Re: Global warming and industry

We are already working on cars and other things that use different types of fuels that don't add a lot of green house gasses to our atmosphere.  We could also build more power plants that use solar panels and other things like that.
