Re: Water project with New Zealand, anyone?

    Greetings -

I teach a class of 23 9-11 year olds and we are new to ePals.  We are very excited and are looking for a class to collaborate with through email and blogs.  Please let me know if you are still seeking a class.

    Thanks,

    Jenn

    Hi Nandina,

I did the water project last year with my Year 7/8 students, but that class has now finished.

It would have been a great opportunity. I now teach Year 4 students, but we are not studying water at this point.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Hello Craig,

Your project seems very interesting, more so as we have our Global Gang consisting of students from standard 6 - 8 who are working on a similar project. It would be great if we could work together.

I teach in an Indian school in Kolkata. Hope to hear from you soon.

We are a class of 13 science kids that live above the world's largest aquifer, the Ogallala Aquifer in western Nebraska. Water is a serious issue here since we are a farming state and do much irrigating. We would be interested in sharing information in how water is used and the political issues too.

    Looking forward to connecting,

    Mary

    Dear Robin
I think you are rather at the beginning of your school year. We have made 2/3 of ours.
Even if my students are 10th grade, I think we could make a project. Yet, I will start it after April.
So, maybe we can start a correspondence on water. I already have a map of New Zealand in my classroom, because your team was in Paris for rugby two years ago and they distributed maps and introductions, below the Eiffel Tower!

If you are interested, let's communicate more quickly via skype.

    We can integrate more countries.
I know people who would be interested.
    I'll give you a link.

Tell me more about your project.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks, but we are no longer looking for partners for the water project.

    Cheers,

    Craig

    Hi,

Are you still looking for partners?  I have a science class of 22 11-12 year old 6th graders who would be ready to exchange info with you.  We are in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, USA.

    Thanks,

    Anne

    Hi Annie,

Thanks, sounds really interesting. I will have a different year level next year, much younger, and I don't think we are looking at Water as a topic.

Good luck, hope you find a class to connect with.

    Craig

Re: Water project with New Zealand, anyone?

    Dear Craig

You may be on summer holidays right now, but to have a project for next year we could perhaps talk about it.

My students are 10th grade but as English is a foreign language for them I guess it could work alright. We are in winter here, snow has fallen but melted.

Water is a theme I like: I have already had a project on that topic, and I'm sure we can make something interesting out of it. What subject do you teach?

If you have skype, and if you think we can have a project, send me your pseudo.

    Happy New Year!

    Annie Flore (France)

Re: Water project with New Zealand, anyone?

Thanks, that sounds as though it would have been fascinating. Unfortunately we end our school year next week, and so probably do not have the time left to get the most out of connecting. Thanks anyway, and all the best for finding another class to work with.

    Cheers

    Craig

Re: Water project with New Zealand, anyone?

    Greetings Craig and Crew,

Taylor's Team (23 5th and 6th graders) would enjoy collaborating with your team on your Water Project. We live on a small island that is part of an archipelago located in the Pacific Northwest. We do a marine water quality study twice each year that measures fecal coliform levels as well as explore our local watershed and water treatment plant. We would enjoy sharing our findings and personal conservation measures while discovering how your island community conserves your precious resources.

    Hi,

We are an IB school, and would love to collaborate with global partners. We, too, are in our Earth Science unit, which includes discussion on Earth's water and the water cycle. We started before our holiday break, and will continue when we get back on Monday. Please partner with us.

    Hi Craig,

I teach sixth graders that are in that age group. I have a total of 83 students that I teach science to. I would love to have a global connection with you. I'm not sure how we can help you but I am willing.

    Sincerely,

    Elaine Watts
