    Jessica,

Our students are a little behind your students.  However, we are interesting in blogging and/or creating a wiki with your students.  Please contact me at lonihowell@epals.com   Thank-you, Laura

    Lisa,

We will not be able to participate.  :-(   The other members of my cluster team who are not participating in the blog are starting "Animal Farm" the last week in Feb.  We should conclude around the end of March.  Thank you, Karen, Shannon, & Laura

Re: Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

    Hello all,

I agree about the notification - this is one of those things that just falls off the plate unnoticed from time to time!  On the plus side, we're starting early enough, that it will be ok!

Thanks for the heads up on the gadgets.

If no one else minds, I say we go with blogger since we're familiar with it.  Thanks for the link, by they way!  Very cool work.

In January, I can post when we'd be able to start blogging.

Re: Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

I have about 75 kids blog (or at least I assign it! ha!). We use blogger and wordpress. Blogger is so easy, but if you have the kids add on gadgets, you should know that not all are school appropriate. They're not pornographic, but certainly push the edge. Do not let them take the gadget to allow youtube feeds into their blog. The folks at youtube filter in disgusting videos at night. Those two things aside, blogger is a great way to go. Edublogs is extremely popular and designed for students.

Blogger, Wordpress, Edublogs - any of those are great!

Re: Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

We don't have skype, sadly, but I think this may be rather impressive never the less.

Any favorite blogging websites that either of you know about?  I've used blogger before with relative succes, though I've never tried it with such a LARGE group!

Re: Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

I think it's possible that we can join in on that too. We're reading Animal Farm right around that time. I'll be having about 75 students read it. Wow - this could be quite the group!

    We're in Wisconsin.

Do any of you skype? We could also try Skyping.

Re: Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

    Hi Lisa,

I have a class of 30 honors freshmen in Southern California, USA, who will be reading "Animal Farm" in the spring, also.  I can arrange for them to read it in March when you begin.  They will be very excited to blog with your students about the book.  You can get to know us better by viewing our web site.  Your students are welcome to leave us messages if they'd like.

I hope to hear from you.

    Judy P.

Looking to blog about "Animal Farm" in April

I have a class of 27 advanced sophomores in the middle of Kansas who will read "Animal Farm" starting on March 23rd and running into April. We plan to blog with one another, but we would be extremely excited to also blog with another group of students. The fantastic thing about blogging is that it doesn't matter if you have 8 or 80 students.

    Regards,

    Lisa
