Re: World War II history students needed from around the world

    John,

We sure do appreciate this. Our students will be truly enriched by this. They will finally have a chance to see outside their own community. My ePals email is kreuter@epals.com. If you could give me your email from ePal I will send our address. I prefer not to post it for everyone to see.

We look forward to viewing your presentation.  Thank you so very much for helping us. We will definitely keep in touch. I am going talk to my teacher and see what her thought on skype is. Maybe when all is said and done you could meet the students you are helping! Thanks again.

Re: World War II history students needed from around the world

    Hi Ken

I will be happy to share my childhood war time experiences with your students, my project it was very well received by a teacher and her students your side of the pond who was responsible for me putting it on paper and then developing the PowerPoint of related events originally, during an exchange of other materials on life and living here in the UK I shared with her group.  A retirement hobby of mine now shared with teachers and students in Brazil, India, Italy, France, Norway, China and of course two long-term friends in the US.

If you supply a school address I will get a copy in the post to you.  Yes we do Skype I am due online to a friend in Wisconsin to help resolve a camera problem they have been having with the school web cam.  We do quite a bit video wise with them and a school in Italy my wife did a mystery story reader to one of her classes of 7 year old for Christmas.

    Regards

    John F

    John,

That sounds great! Our students would love to see your presentation. The teacher I am working with mentioned the possibility of using skype to communicate with the classroom as well. Let us know if you are interested and we can set exchange contact information! I truly believe your views would be extremely beneficial for our students to hear. Thanks for your interest!

Re: World War II history students needed from around the world

    Hi Kenneth

Sorry I cannot offer you students studying WWII as I am now retired from full time teaching, making me of an age that grew up through it in London, and the Blitz that it suffered.  A couple of years ago a epals teacher from your side of the pond with whom I was communicating ask my to to write up my experiences and produce a PowerPoint presentation (A hobby of mine) on life and the verious WWII events that effected us at that time here in the UK.

If you think I could be of help contact me in the Spring and I will be happy to share my information and experiences of its effect on us Londoners with your students.

    Regards

    John F

World War II history students needed from around the world

I teach United States History to high school 11th graders in Paducah, Kentucky, USA. We will be studying World War II in the spring of 2010. We are looking for other high school history students to compare and contrast historical accounts of World War II from around the world. My students have limited knowledge/interaction with other cultures and I would love for this project to broaden their horizons.
