Thank you very much for your postcards and the Turkish flag. We've just received them in the mail today;I'll have to find a world map and put it up the wall in the classroom very quickly. I'll send mine next week probably. Bye,

    Re: International postcard exchange

I'm looking for another kind of project as I'm a teacher of English at a preshcool and the age of my students is 5-6! So I'd like to participate in an international handmade postcard exchange with a group of kids from one English-speaking country who is interested in Russia. Children should be the same age. The postcards would feature some national, cultural things (symbols) They could be devoted to holidays, everyday life of preschoolers, contain some photos and so on. Tha final aim is the children of both sides would get some real true information about the pen-country, sort of the evidence of foreign life ))

    Does anybody like the idea?

Waiting for replies from you impatiently!

    International postcard exchange

I am a 6th grade teacher in Dallas, Texas. I am interested in organizing an international postcard exchange. The end result would be that each class ends up with a postcard and a peek into different cultures of countries around the world. As a class we would generate a letter that highlights great things about our city, state, country and school.  The letter along with a postcard gets mailed in an envelope to each participating classroom. If you are interested, I will put together a list of all who respond and send it out.  Our school year started in August 2009 and ends in May 2010. If you would like to participate in this exchange, please email me this information: YOUR NAME, SCHOOL NAME, SCHOOL ADDRESS, GRADE LEVEL or AGE of STUDENT, and the DATE when your school year ends. At the end of November, I will email everyone the information from all of the schools that are participating. Then you can begin mailing out your postcards with the copy of your letter containing the information mentioned above. It would be best if you could send your postcards promptly, so that everyone gets them before their school year is over. At the conclusion of this exchange, each class participating should have a collection of postcards and letters from around the world. I would prefer not to have any U.S. schools participate in this international exchange. Looking forward to hearing from you!
