Re: Christmas holidays in other countries!

    Hey Leia,

My name is Fatima, I am from Egypt. We have different feasts. We have one after the holy month, it called EID AL FETR. It's running for three days, we eat delicious special cookies just made for this occasion. It contains nuts and dates. We visit families and we go out for lunch or dinner. We have other occasion if you need more to know more about them.

Hey Leia! Did you know Russians celebrate Christmas on January 7th?

And have a feast that's called: The Holy Supper

Which involves: Mushroom with Zaprashka, lenten bread, grated garlic, bowl of honey, baked cod, fresh apricots, oranges, figs and dates, nuts, kidney beans (slowly cooked all day) seasoned with shreded potatoes, lots of garlic, salt and pepper to taste, peas, parsley potatoes (boiled new potatoes with chopped parsley and margarine) small biscuits combined with saurkraut or poppyseed with honey, and red wine.

Re: Christmas holidays in other countries!

    Hey Leia!

I'm Alba from Barcelona, Spain. Here we celebrate lots of things. The night of the 24th Santa comes, but only in a few houses, then the 25th we celebrate that Jesus was born so we have lunch with the family and in Catalonia (a part of Spain) we have a small trunk with a "barretina"(look for it on google) and we hit it with a stick and it gives us presents or just some sweets. It may seem weird but it's what kids do, it is called "Caga tió". Then, the night of the 5th of January the three magic kings come and give us presents. The morning of the 6th lots of families have "churros" (I think there is no name for it in English) for breakfast. Almost every family here celebrates the three magic kings then Santa. So we have Christmas holidays from the 23rd to the 7th or 8th (depends on the year). Then some families have a great lunch together on the 26th. Hope I helped.

I know what Italy is like on Chirstmas. They eat fish and other Italian dishes and they don't have a Santa!

    Hello girl !

I'm Bianca, from Brazil. Here, we celebrate Christmas with our families, we share presents and decorate our houses. The only difference between USA and Brazil's Christmas is that here we don't have snow, here on christmas we are in summer.
