Angela - Thank your for your reply! I am the library media center director but have forwarded your message to a 5th grade teacher who is interested in such a project and she should contact you very soon We did not have  specific project in mind yet but will look at our curriculum to get a good match. However your suggestions sound very doable and interesting. I am very excited for the students - they will enjoy this and learn as well - especially since our midwestern ecosystem is so different than the Caribbean! We look forward to talking to you soon and hopefully making this work. Can you send me your email so we can talk more easily? Good luck with our move to Antigua!

    I am at imelamed@epals.com

    thanks, Idelle

Re: Global Warming Project - 5th grade students in US

    Hello Idelle.

I am a first-year Teacher currrently living in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In August, I will be moving to the Caribbean island of Antigua to teach a 4/5 grade class at CCSET International Academy. I would love to have my students partner with your class in a Global Warming Project this coming year. What kind of project did you have in mind? Maybe we could do a study of how global warming is effecting each of our local habitats, and then discuss and compare these changes, followed by a culminating activity that encourages our students to consider what steps they can take to produce change in their own community. What do you think?

Global Warming Project - 5th grade students in US

I am a library media director at a K-5 in Arlington Heights, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. We have a 4th and a 5th grade class that would be interested in participating in the Global Warming Project this coming school year. We begin school in August and could start soon after. We are interested in working with/communicating with a class of similar age anywhere in the world. Let me know if you are interested.
