J.K Rowling is a genius! Harry Potter is a great book to escape in, and not all people read it just to pretend they can do magic. But yes, Artemis Fowl stinks. I've got three of the books but I hardly understand any of them. The fact that he's a child mastermind is pretty cool, but I just get really lost in it. Hey, do you like any type of books? From Laura in england.

I have to say I've never read Artemis Fowl, but I've heard it was pretty good. As for Harry Potter, I didn't think they were that bad. I'm not a "wannabe wizard" either. The only problem with HP is that J.K. Rowling ripped off J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy big time! Otherwise, HP isn't that bad. I've looked into Artemis Fowl and it is fantasy so that's why all the magic. Oh well. -Brianna, USA

Vivian, I agree with you, there is nothing wrong with Ella Enchanted or Harry Potter. I also think Lord of the Rings is a bad series also. Carli

The worst book I've every read was The Cay. It's nothing like Harry Potter or Dancing in Cadillac Light. Kaitlyn D.

The worst book in the world? A Series of Unfortunate Events! I don't know why people like to read it. I read the first book and the way the author keeps babbling about "bad things" happenning and "oh, this book is so sad and the characters are so unfortunate" makes me sick.

I totally disagree with you. I have read every single book and not once have I got bored and people read the books because they are exiting and enchanting not because they want to be wizards. I'm not trying to be mean but Harry Potter is the best book I have ever read and most of my friends think that too.

Hi, my name is Anna and I live in the UK. I think the Harry Potter books are the best books in the world. I don't read them because I want to be a Wizard (although it would be quite fun,) I read them because they are a gripping read and you really feel as if you are actually there because J.K Rowling is such a detailed writer. It's your own opinion but try reading the later Harry Potter books all the way through. I am sure you will like them soon enough. Anna

I definitely agree with you about the Harry Potter books but I have never read the Artemis Fowl books. I will have to look in on that one.

I think that you should read the rest of the book. Give it a chance. I read it. The first chapter I hated but I kept reading. Then I liked it a lot. I really like the book.

Harry Potter is a good book, but no better than Artemis Foul. It's name literally rates the whole series, Foul! I hated that book. I gave up the third sentence in. The second worst is The Babysitter's Club. Who wants to join a club like that? Well, what do you think?

I think that the worst book since the dawn of time is Anne of Green Gables. The worst book ever! Please don't waste your time reading it!

Hi! I like Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl because they are fantasy books and I like J.K. Rowling and Eoin Colfer's style to write. Their books are exciting and funny and true. I want to be a wizard or actually a witch. But this is just my think! I want still to hear what kind of books you like if you don't like Potter or Fowl? -Iide-

Hey, it's Sidra, Atermis Fowl is a pretty boring book, but I like Harry Potter a lot! My only reason to like that book in not because it has wizards/witches and spells. I like JK Rowling's style of writing. If you ever sit down with the book, you will be sucked into the land of Harry Potter. I like the adventures in the book. The most boring book to me is the Animorphs series. It makes me fall asleep. No adventure or witty comments. Snooze!

Re:Worst book in the world?, Philippines

Good day! I haven't read the Artemis Fowl book yet, but I have read all of the Harry Potter books. Maybe for you, Harry Potter is not that nice because it is "weird", but for others, Harry Potter's weirdness makes it unique, and in turn, exciting. I don't read Harry Potter books because I want to be a wizard. I'm happy with my present state, and I don't need to cast spells on people. I've got my own abilities. The point is, I read Harry Potter as a form of entertainment, as a way of passing time, and in a way, it is a book that informs. Some people say that Harry Potter is a bad influence, but I guess that is where the guidance of the parents and the self discipline of the readers enter. I think that's all.
