You're right, adults don't really listen to kids. Since they say that there is no time to waste with silly things like this they think there is no point in listening. Even when it is something important like this, global warming.

Yes, I agree with you in every way. I think the government should start making commercials and magazines about this so we can stop global warming!

I say we should bring this attention to kids. We as kids are now able to make a difference in the world because we are going to be adults and then we can teach the younger generation.  We can make a difference now by turning off the lights and recycling.

Hello, I'm from Greece! People here don't talk about global warming. They have many other problems to give a solution! I worred about that problem and the TV doesn't make the public aware.

I am pretty sure we will find a way to live on Mars. We will never have enough time to build a shuttle and we will never have enough time to construct it.

Look at the Berlin Wall and the Eiffel Tower. It took years to build them. It will take at least 30 years to build it if you think about it.

I agree, global warming is becoming a big issue. If we don't do something about it soon then something really bad might happen. We will never know what until it happens. So we should do something like recycling, carpooling, or maybe even turning the light off in your room when you leave your room. All that little stuff can make a big difference!

Re: Global Warming: Kids need to bring attention to the issue!

There are simple things that we can do to slow down or stop global warming. We can use cloth bags when shopping, turn off and unplug appliances when not in use and the most important thing to do is to plant trees. Trees also drink up about one ton of carbon dioxide during their lifetime.

All of us can and must contribute to make a cleaner and safer place to live. We must take part in taking care of our Mother Earth. Let us encourage other people to be involve in green-projects that can help save our environment. Let us start the changes...start with ourselves.

Yeah true but it's not more the kids than the adults.   I mean what could kids do to cause global warming?

Re: Global Warming: Kids need to bring attention to the issue!

The thing about Global Warming is making my country sick. My country had a devastating natural disaster in Padang. An earthquake in 8 richter which destroyed homes and schools for my other acquintances. Even though I don't even know them, but I understand what are talking in. I want to help but what can I do. I'm still living with my parents and I don't have a job that can support my life. I don't how to help.

So who'll I blame for this? God?

I do believe in God but we're the ones who lived in this world for thousands of years and we're the one who destroyed the only home we have. IT IS REAL. Open your EYES people. I can feel it from here. I'm afraid that if we continue this Global Warming, there'll be Apocalypse. I can't bring myself not to care about this.

    Re: Global Warming, United States

I think the big hype of global warming is that it is big business.  People arguing it causes them to have a job.  Pro-global warming people are in politics. Real scientists are heretics or against global warming. Therefore, I don't think global warming is caused by humans. The temperature differs all the time.  It got warmer before all of the cars and pollution. The sun is the cause of all the warming, not people.

That's a very good idea Celeste. Most political people are interested in what will keep them in office. If you send them messages saying that the people want to help save the planet, they will agree to help the best they can. I live in Indiana, and our governers are very interested in what will keep them in office no matter what the issue is.

Re: Global Warming: Kids need to bring attention to the issue!

I feel that global warming is not a result of human activities. The world goes through cycles of warming and cooling periods. In the past, there has been 10X the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere than today. We need to help keep the earth clean,  but we are still not the cause of Global Warming. This is important to me because I want to have a healthy environment. I believe that we should do our best to reduce smoggy emissions. Does anyone else agree with me that we should make a healthier world because it's our obligation to; NOT because of global warming?

Re: Global Warming: Kids need to bring attention to the issue!

I agree with you Sarah. I don't think global warming is as big as the world thinks. It is just a natural cycle of the world. There was a medieval warming a long time ago. Another fact is most people think that the temperature went up during the post war economic boom. The truth is the temperature actually went down during this time. The CO2 from volcanoes and the oceans are the actual main cause to this global warming. I wanted to put this on here to start a discussion because I want to learn more about this. This is apparently an issue for this planet, so I want more people to understand the situation. Do you have any comments on this?

Re: Global Warming: Kids need to bring attention to the issue!

    Greetings.

You know what youth of today; Our country suffered from typhoons (note:3 consecutive typoons) this past few weeks.

Now we (the youth of our country) realized that global warming is really a threat. To our nature, to our lives.

I believe that we can do something with our own liitle ways. By simply volunteering in a group that helps our nature: e.g tree planting, proper waste disposal etc.

If adults cannot make their move to help our planet, I think we can do something about it.
