Re: 6th Grade Partners Needed, USA

Hello. I am a teacher at a village School in the Republic of Georgia. My students are 10 - 18 years old.  I would like to get in touch with you and your students about having an exchange between our classrooms.  In Georgia, we have a very interesting and ancient history and would like to share that with you.  Please respond to:masiashvily@epals.com

    Re:6th Grade Partners, Australia

Hello again Jelena, Australians do call the English 'poms'or'pommies' (amongst other things). This is a colloquial expression that's origin is uncertain, but some claim it started during the war years. Australian colloquial language or slang (also known as 'Strine') is a very colourful and a constantly developing language probably because of the many cultural influences in our multi-cultural society. Please look for my class' profile in ePALS under 'Lindisfarne' school so you can send me a message from there to set up ePALS partnerships between our students, instead of us communicating through this forum. Regards RayB

    Re:6th Grade Partners, Germany

Hello Ray, My students are looking forward to having ePALS in Australia. They learn English as a foreign language. In grade 9 we are having a topic "Australia". So they are very excited to know more about the Australians. Last lesson they asked me why do the Australians say to British people Poms (this stands in our textbook). Is that true? And why? Regards, Jelena

    Re:6th Grade Partners, Australia

Greetings Jelena, Some of my students are keen to establish German ePALS and learn a bit more about Germany so could you email me a list of names/ePALS addresses (with some sort of English ability grading) so I can match them up with my students. It might be interesting for your students to write in Deutsch as well if ePALS can translate it. I will send you an email from my school address as well in case you would prefer to send the list that way. regards RayB

    Re:6th Grade Partners, Australia

Greetings all, I have a year 6 class in Australia (11-13 year olds) who are keen to communicate with similar age students in other countries. We are also experienced ePALS members but lost touch with our ePALS during the American school break. Please contact me if any of you are interested in partners in our class. RayB

Hi, I teach English as a foreign language in Germany. I´ve a group of 12-13-year-olds who are interested in having pen pals around the world. We have some experience in working on ePALS. My students have their own accounts. I´m looking forward to getting your answer. Lena

    Re:6th Grade Partners, USA

Hi Christopher, I also teach 6th grade, but in NYC. My students are learning disabled, but are sheltered to the outside world, even within our own country. I am also interested in "The Way We Are" project. I am new to this site, and am eager to begin the project in Spetember. Sincerely, Alicia Orlich

    6th Grade Partners Needed, USA

I teach 6th grade (ages 10-13) in a small, rural town in Massachusetts. I am looking for a class of similar age level and size to partner with beginning this September. I am open to students from any part of the world since we study all the continents as part of our geography curriculum. I look forward to hearing from and connecting with you on "The Way We Are" project! Thank you, Christopher Dodge
