I'm Karen, married to Stephen and we home educate our 2 children, Niamh, 6, and Patrick, 4 and we're in beautiful historic Lincoln in the UK.

Niamh actually came up with the idea of writing to other children all over the world because she's feeling all grown up about setting up her very own e-mail address! LOL And I think it's a great idea too, it's been many years since I've had a pen pal and it would be nice to have one again.

We're an outdoor kind of family, we love nature, hiking, camping and all that! Reading and art are the big things in the Brennan household at the moment, and then there's also sports, the whole family pretty much loves almost every sport there is!

Niamh's also really into all things environmental and saving the planet, rainforests, oceans... the list is endless really!!!! LOL She's also just started attending a pottery class, something else she's very excited about and chatters non stop about it!

As for me, apart from the outdoor things, I love cooking, especially baking, sewing, knitting, I'm always trying new homely crafts, I just like to 'have a go' at most things!

One of my main passions is reading, I will read practically anything! And I love art, I'm a trained illustrator and studied art history, though the children keep me so busy I don't get that much time to indulge in 'grown up' art.

Anyway, that' us! : D

Here's hoping to hear from some of you soon!

All the best

Preferably we would like to communicate with those outside of the USA.

I tried several times to respond to an orphanage in Rwanda, but my response would not go through. Anyone know why this is happening?

US kids hoping for Canadian, Mexican, Central & South American ePals!

We are part of a homeschool cooperative in Rhode Island, USA learning about World Geography this year. We are hoping to find ePals to correspond with our kids, boys and girls ranging from ages 8 - 12. Their interests vary - we have Irish and ballet dancers, soccer & football players, chess players, avid skiiers and budding snowboarders, pianists and readers. We are studying North America from October - November and hope to hear from any North American kids to share information about our countries. We'll be moving onto South America after that.
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining in a project we have undertaken as a homeschooling family to learn about different parts of the world and the people who live in it.

My idea is to have an exchange envelope. This involves each participant, school, family or group to fill a large envelope with paper based items that reflect their coutry and culture. I have devised a list of items that you would put into the envelope to send to me and I would then send the same to you.

By making the project an exchange envelope full of paper based items I hope to be able to keep the cost down for those who wish to particpate.

Please send your email of interest to kereng@epals.com and I will happily send you a list of items that would need to be put into each envelope. Most things should be very cheap and cost effective.

Because this is an exchange envelope it can occur at any time of year, so regardless of the date, if you are passing by and wish to be involved please email me and I shall get back to you.

Here's hoping that we can get a number of people from a variety of places around the globe to help make our geography class more interesting!

Thanks in advance,

Keren

I would like to continue this through her education, so we are looking for others to trade cards back and forth with. One time or many, up to you. Currently we have Virginia History related postcards to send out to anyone who will send her one. Hope to gain many friends from around the world and learn about each other.
