and girls, and are studying English as a second language. We would like to exchange postcards with other students of similar age anywhere in the world in English.

Our plan is to exchange names before we write the postcards.
This way your students will receive a postcard personalized with their name sent to
your school. In return, we would ask that the students to whom we've
written a postcard, write back! :)
I would like to keep it

have written a postcard receive a reply.

We are hoping to connect with another class (or classes) sometime soon, so we can complete the exchange before Christmas, if possible.

I'm a teacher in a primary school in Poland. I'd like to do a "Christmas around the world" project. I have 7 classes of students age 10-12. I need 7 classes from 7 different countries to exchange information about regional Christmas traditions with. We could send a box with some cards, a CD with carols (with the Polish version of Silent Night of course), a list of Christmas customs, regional Christmas recipes with pictures. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Christmas cards

Hi! We are looking for schools in other parts of the world that may be interested in a collaborative short story writing circle to as the title suggests write some short stories. The way it works is very simple: working individually or in groups the children in the first school write the first part of the story. This is then emailed to the second school who write the middle. This school then emails it to the next one where the ending is written. Interested? Please email me the grade 5 teacher at inayathmohamed@epals.com and we'll get the ball rolling.

My name is Kristine. I work at an alternative middle school in Portland, Oregon. I am interested in connecting my students (we have 45 total) with students from other countries (or possibly other regions of the US). I would like their connection to center around music, peace and understanding of another culture. My students live in a urban community and come from primarily low income familes. Most of my students have not experienced life outside of their neighborhoods.

I am wondering if there are other schools regionally or internationally that would like to get involved and help my students learn about another part of the world. I am looking to have a once a month correspondence (probably via email) and would like the students to exchange information about their own cultures and the music they listen to and ways they work to promote peace, harmony, etc. or the way music helps them. My students are between the ages of 11-14, both boys and girls.

If you have any interest in continuing this post and have further ideas or want to join together to do something this school year, please contact me either here or at mtscottms@epals.com

We'd like to do the exchange through Comenius or otherwise.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Danica Krapez

Looking for middle school science partners

I teach grades 6 and 7 (ages 11 - 13) in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. Our 6th grade curriculum is Life Science (ecology and biodiversity, cells and cell reproduction, genetics, body systems, plant studies, animal studies with a particular focus on birds). 7th grade is Earth Science (Earth-moon-sun system, Earth's structure, Earth history particularly our local Ordovician history, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, rock cycle, climate change, renewable and nonrenewable resources, hydrology, weather). I am looking for schools that might want to partner in some type of project in one of these two areas. One possiblity is a genetics study in which we survey our students and their friends/families for the presence of particular dominant traits to see whether those traits are the most prevalent in the population (ex: attached vs. free earlobes). I am open to all ideas.

6th grade Life Science class studying birds--looking for global partners

This year we have decided to weave a study of birds throughout our 6th grade Life Science curriculum. We have partnered with some local professors who are bird banders and will be banding at our school. We have also created electronic field guides that can be downloaded onto iPods. We are making biweekly counts and reporting our data to eBird as well. What we are looking for from ePals is some way to make this a more global project - to collaborate with students in other parts of the world (or the country). We are open to all ideas (and as ours take shape we will post more specifics) Thanks!

Interested in science partnerships or ideas

HI! The topics we study in our curriculum through the year are light, the sun, earth and moon, electricity and sound. Are you interested? I would like to have authentic texts from American students (13-16 years old) who write down their Christmas days, when they do what (weeks before Christmas/Christmas eve/25th December - Christmas day/26th December - Boxing Day/the twelve days of Christmas), what does it mean to them and in what do they believe. Do they enjoy their Christmas days with family and friends? I would be very happy to get some texts.doc via email Sonne210481@epals.com .
I recently become interested in a program called Playing for Change. You can view the website here http://www.playingforchange.com I would like to some how involve the ideas of this playing for change program (though it would not be necessary for the ePals to participate if they were not interested)

Thank you!

I teach English to 5th and 6th grades. I always expect my students to prepare project works about the subject we study. They are so creative. And we want to see project works with similar subjects from different countries. And at the end of the year we would like to make an exhibition in our school. If you want to join this work please just send a message...

Thanks...

Each team will focus on a different country or region, and create a presentation to give to the class about that country. Part of the research that my students will do will be to "interview" students in that focus country.

The exchange, at minimum, would only have to be 1 or 2 emails. My students would ask questions about culture, way of life, traditions and history. In turn, my students would also respond to any questions your students might have. The "interview" questions can be answered by any number or age of students.

Can anyone help? I need to find 10-12 different countries!

Thanks!
