    Re: Brain Gym Method?, Italy

What benefits did you find in your research on the Brain Gym method?  Most students would enjoy the movement but did you find any changes in behavior or achievement?

    Re: Brain Gym Method?, Italy

I did my Master's research project on the Brain Gym method. We used PACE. The students were to drink water, do "brain buttons", complete "cross crawls" and then go into "hook-ups". They enjoyed it and it seemed to help lots! We also did things like "lazy 8's" and "thinking caps". Our PE teachers at school were really into this method. The students all understood the benefits and participated in the program! Hope this helps! :)

    Re: Brain Gym Method?, USA

    Hi,

Brain Gym has no scientific basis. It is fun to get up and move around, and that can help the kids to concentrate, but most of the claims made by the founder of Brain Gym are bunkum.

Have a read of these articles written by Ben Goldacre of the Guardian Newspaper UK

Hi! Soraia...I think nobody seems interested in answering after the first contact...I'm using brain gym for the first time in a primary school...it seems difficult to choose the appropriate music, but children like this kind of gym!

    Have a nice week

Hi Lee, I am a Brazilian English teacher and I've heard of Brain gym in a course I took in England, but I'd like to know the name of CDs with songs to practice these exercises with my students.

Thanks a lot for your attention.

    Soraia.

    Hi Maria,

I've only just joined epal and saw your request for information about Brain Gym.  Our school in Australia is a Brain-Based Learning school which incorporates the Brain Gym exercises etc. into our learning program.  What in particular about Brain Gym were you seeking?  The CD of songs?

    Regards,

    Lee

    Ciao Lee!

    Nice to meet you!

I am so glad that finally somebody answered my message. It was so hard...I'm looking to find something more to help me in order to organise some exercise in my primary classroom.

I teach English as foreign language to children aged from 6 to 10.

I have decided to focus about brain gym - I read it could be helpful - because children are very active - and I think that knowing more about a new method could help me to activate new interest in my subject!

Could you help me? Are CD of songs useful? Would you like to keep in touch?

Could I help you with  something in exchange?

Please, answer here or to my epals address

    Opal A:

My apologies Oliver for not replying earlier to you. I will seek the name of the CD for you and reply to you soon. We are having exams here in the US and closing school soon so it is very busy. Talk back to you soon.

Hello Oliver...I hoped you were the right person that could help me in my research, few people answered me... . At the beginning I was looking only for Italian materials on brain gym, now I understand that I need to begin with English.

Pls, write me back on the name of the CD or on others materials to be used with children between 3-11 years old.

    Thanks.

Nice, very nice! What a wonderful idea , if only was possible to find this CD in my target language. To begin my research could you kindly write me the title of your CD? In few days school will end in Italy, but in summer I will look around in order to organise papers to begin new programm in September. Thanks again, Oliver
