My students are very eager to video conference with students in China. We have ichat and polycon (coming in April). We could set up the questions beforehand. Very willing to be flexible on the time. Thanks, Fred

Good afternoon, I am a computer tech in a middle school in the USA. I would be interested in having a video conference with your school. We have to wait for our equipment to come in but let me know if you are still doing this project. Thanks.

HI, I am a junior high math teacher in Sacramento, Ca. I have a polycom camera in my classroom and currently video conference with other classrooms in the Grant School District. I think it would be fun to connect with someone from another country. My email address is francisthompson@epals.com. Email me and let me know if you are interested. Francis Thompson

    Re:Video Conferencing Between Schools?, USA

Hi, there ! I teach a class of 13-14 year olds of Newark, New Jersey (very urban) and we are interested in video conferencing with your children. We have a project on weight-consciousness and would like to compare our weights/heights and BMI with other children in the USA and other countries, if we can establish contact. Can you help me with this project by sending me those data (Names of the 13-14 year old kids, their weights and heights)? I need at least 18 students for this project to compare with ours. Our video conferencing can center on what kids should do to control their weight and avoid being overweight adults. If you are interested, then, we can arrange for a specific date. I hope to hear from you. Carmelita cmirza@nps.epals.com

I have 100 students who would like to ask your students some questions about how they use technology for education. Would you be able to provide any students to take a two-page survey and communicate with our students? I too have access to online video conferencing and could connect the classes. Let me know. Thank you. Roy

You can email me at cjennings@nps.epals.com. Students communicating via email sounds like a great idea. Thank you. Ms. Jennings

Re:Video Conferencing Between Schools?, Hong Kong

Hi, thanks a lot for showing your interest. But since the time difference from HK and USA (12 hours) I think it hard for them to do the real time conference, but through email. Would you mind to change to email communication ? Regards, Lutgardis >

Re:Video Conferencing Between Schools?, Hong Kong

Hi Jennings, This is a pleasure to have your reply. The program to run is by a web cam and through a chat program such as yahoo messenger or MSN. Since our school don't have enough IP, therefore, we can only do the conference by those programs. For the topics to discuss, your suggestion is great. For the time difference, I think it hard for us to do a real time communication, but only emailing. Is that ok? If done by emailing, I have a class of about 33 students, how about mapping them one to one? I think I need to discuss in these few days, Thank you. Keep in touch Lutgardis

Hi Lutgardis, Can you tell me a little more about how you would like to conduct the video conference session? What video technology are you using, ATM, etc. What topics are your students interested in discussing? I'm located in New Jersey, USA. In view of the time difference and other factors, when would you like to conduct the session? Also, would your students be interested in participating in an interdisciplinary project to exchange cultural information and geographic information as well via email? What grade level(s) are your students? Looking forward to hearing from you. Ms. Jennings

I would love to meet with your students. I teach a gifted class of students on Mondays. They are in the 7th and 8th grade. We use web cams or ITV polycom systems at my school. We are located in the center of the US in a small school in Missouri. Hope to hear from you soon.

Dear all I am a computer teacher in a primary school in Hong Kong. Since I am going to hold an activity on the IT day (29/11/2004) which is a lesson using video conferencing with other schools. I am finding partners to do this activity with me. I have a class of about 32 students. They will stay in the computer room to watch the conferencing by the projector. 2-3 students will be representative to communication with other school students. The content can be discussed later, since this is urgent, if someone can help, please email me. Thanks a lot. 14/11/04
