Gears of War is when Humans and Aliens discover themselves. They start attacking us and we nuke them. That sounds more interesting than us discovering eachother, then offering our books and knowledge and solving eachother's problems.

Violent video games are awesome. Would you rather people release their anger in video games by killing fake people or harming people in real life?

They make video games violent because they are fun. I completely agree with Gee, K. Games such as Saints Row don't encourage people to act as they do, that would be unrealistic. Because of arguments like this, they have age ratings!

I find that violent videogames are made because they sell well and everyone enjoys them. When it comes down to it at least 99% of the games you don't think are violent really are. Unless you want us to play mini-putt and Uno on the 360 then violence is prevalant. Even most sports games have violence in them, and if you play KH you know that you run around and beat things to death with a blunt object, I think that's violent. If I remember correctly the game case even says "Cartoon violence" or something close.

Hello, I am Ian from the US .

I would like to say (with all respect) that "they maybe want kids to become violent adults" can't possibly be the reason why.

This is how I look at it:

I play Violent Video Games for 1 Reason: To blow off steam.

If I have a bad day at school , I'll call up a few friends and have a LAN party on Postal2: Bring the Pain and blow everyones brains out . They have a good time, I do.

    What do you think?
    Write me back.

Video games dont kill people, it's for people that want to blow off steam without actually harming a living creature.

That is a simple question with a simple answer: corruption.

I think that violent video games are fun. Most games are violent these days but they don't teach anything bad.

I think they make violent video games because they think they think these violent games will be fun for children. They think these games are very good during gameplay.

I think that violent video games are to escape the real world. If they wanted to make people change how they act then, they wouldn't have ratings.  They're just stories that YOU control.

I dislike those games like Grand Theft Auto sometimes, because they overshadow Nintendo games!

Re: Re:Why Violent Video Games?, USA

The entire reason why video games can be violent is because developers and creators have ideas and like to put them into work. Blood and gore is there for the purpose of entertainment, and why would you want to change kids into being violent. There have also been countless studies on video games and many if not all show no connection between real world and video game violence. It's purely the mental state of the player, not the game.
