To answer your question, there has only been one USA president so far, and that is Barack Obama.  I agree with you on the fact that everyone deserves the same chances, and that we are all human beings, no matter the color of our skin.  Sadly, there are still some people in America that don't see it that way, but I would like to believe that in the political world, the color of their skin doesn't matter. I completely agree. It is kind of judgemental, but then again there has never been an Asian, or Hispanic run for president. However, a women has run for pesident. Just think if an Asian or Hispanic did run for president how far do you thunk they would get?

Yes, the United States has an African American president at the moment. Barack Obama the 47th president, is the first African American to be president in the United States. I do believe that discrimination is not a good thing but all presidents are not chosen because of this. But yes I agree, all human beings should be known equal.

Before Barack Obama, there had never been a black president. Currently, there has never been a female, Hispanic, or Asian president either. It's always been white males (Obama being the only exception), which is upsetting.

Re: Black US President?, United States

It's funny looking at this post, thinking how far we have come since 2003. Yes, Barack Obama has been in office for over 6 months now, and his State of the Union Address...well that was certainly interesting. I did not like the way he purposely told the Supreme Court they were wrong when the Supreme Court has to remain unbias and straightfaced while everyone stands up and claps around them. Roisin

As of right now, there is a black US president, Barack Obama. He is doing a good job in my opinion. He is still learning. He is the first black president, which I think is cool. I watched the election and stuff, so I feel like a part of history.

Sorry David but Mr. Obama put us in a lot of trouble. Now, China practically OWNS US!!! HE HAS SPENT WAY TO MUCH!!! He goes up to his wife and says "lets go to dinner in France and then fly back". How dumb is that?

    Re: Black US President?, Nigeria

Hi Akin, that is a great question! No, there hasn't been an African American president before. President Barack Obama is the first. I am African American and I am very proud of President Obama for taking a leap of faith in order to change the world. Both Mr. McCain and Mr. Obama would have made great presidents, but the nation has spoken, Mr. Obama is the leader of this country. It is a question I have often asked my parents and they can't really answer it. It is an opinion, and with an opinion, there is always more than one side to it. I think one of the reasons why none of the presidents have been African American is that African Americans might not have had the courage to take a leap of faith and run for president. Great quesiton. Mackenzie.

Hey! Well to tell you, now there is a new black president and he is the first. His name is Barack Obama. He has very set, determined goals for U.S. He looks like he has everything organized.

Why should race matter about being the president of the United States? He is a good person!

I agree with the statement that Akin made. Hopefully, having a black president, discrimination would not begin. There are beliefs that in the future there is going to be a Hispanic president. Having a black president does not make a difference in the job of being the president of the United States. A president is a president!

I think it is a great thing we have an African American president. I hope that he makes good choices to bring the whole country up for the best! We are all humans and made equal. Therefore, we must respect and treat each other equal.

Hi my name is Stephanie. No, this is our first black president. Right now our economy is going through some trouble with money. People are losing jobs, homes, and money. He is trying to figure out how to solve this problem. I bet you a lot of people are discriminating but they got to deal with the fact that we have a BLACK president.
