    Re: looking for classrooms

    Hello Beatriz,

I teach Spanish to children in a private school in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. My students are in Kindergarten through 6th grade. I would love to try the "getting to know you" project with my 6th graders -- matching them with students of the same age -- age 11 or 12.  I have 22 students of that age, but could probably try it with a smaller group of motivated students to start (if you don't have that many students of that age).

Would you like to give it a try?  I am new to this too!

Let me know - my email is:  KarenOM@epals.com

    Thank you!

    Karen Muldrow

    Hello Tony,

My name is Sue Clark and I am a teacher in the United States.  I teach in a public high school in Granby, Connecticut.  As part of our International Business class, I am very interested in "The Way We Are Project".  My students are between 16 and 18 years old.  I too am a little unsure on how to begin but excited to have my students begin communicating with your students.

    Thanks,

    Sue Clark

    Re: looking for classrooms

    Tony,

I'm interested in connecting!!  I have 8 students (United States) and we are new to the on line collaboration project. But this sounds very exciting.  This would be a PERFECT MATCH for my students (since you have 8 and I have 8). Mine are the ages 14-17 years old, as well....How do we begin our journey with ePals?

    Thanks!

    Tracy Caywood

P.S. Anyone else from another conuntry that would like to connect with us (8 students in US), please reply.  I just set my account up at epals,

so you can send email to: tracycaywood99@gmail.com.  Pointers on beginning are needed for me, too.

    Re: looking for classrooms

Would you consider some exchange with my young students (2nd Grade, 7-8 years old)? We study ancient China in the spring. I would compile their communication to share/learn about cultures. I would like to start ASAP.

    Thanks!

    Dear Renata,

I am an inner city teacher who teacher literacy to students whose ages range from 11-15.  I would love to start a pen pal project.  They don't have access to email, so I would have to send their letters via post.  What do you think? Let me know.  barbaraa@nps.epal.com

    Sincerely,

    Re: looking for classrooms

Hello Tammy Fehringe, Jamie U, Bernadette Ryan, Jennifer Sheets and Steven George.  You all have recent replies to this post.  I would like to edit mine from the 10th a bit.  I would still like contact with all/any of you on behalf of my class.  We would like to begin next week.  I have 60 students.  Once a week we are in small groups of about 15.  The time frame needs to be longer than I originally proposed.  We could work that out together by email.  I would like to have contact over epals.  My epals address is sacomfo@epals.com.  My profile is Harestua skole. We are in Harestua Norway.  Hope this information makes it easier to get connected.

    Sincerely, Sarah C

    Re: looking for classrooms

I teach English as a second language to a group of 10th graders (15-16 years old) in Harestua, Norway.  The students are “intermediate” English speakers; their ability ranges from being able to communicate about familiar daily activities to being able to speak and write quite fluently.

We are working on a chapter in our textbook with the title “Our Inner and Outer Selves”, which will be followed by a chapter called “Challenges”.  The themes from these and earlier chapters are related to the Epals project “The Way We Are”.   I would like to find a class, close in age to my students, in an English-speaking country who would like to try this project.   It would be fitting for about a two week period sometime between January 19th and February 14th.

I am also a little unsure of how this works - hope we connect.

    Sarah, sacomfo@online.no
