    Re: Skype

    Norma and others,

Sorry I have not checked this site as much as I should have.  My students are chomping at the bit to do this.

Norma, I would love to skype with you guys but I wonder about the time difference.  My fifth graders come to me early in the morning (8:05-8:55).  Let me know.

    Re: Skype

    Hi Rebecca!

That would be great!  Although I've used Skype at home, I've never used it in the classroom before.  Have you?  I'm open to ideas!  I was thinking maybe we could share reader's theater or poems, or discuss our communities.  Haven't really thought it all through yet :)  Where are you located?  We are a year round school, so we've been in for about 5 weeks and will be off in October, so maybe we could set something up for late September?   Let me know what you think.  You can email me at CDM8277@epals.com

    Re: Skype

    Hi all,

I'm looking to skype with a group of 11-12 year old students from around the globe. My 7th grade students are creating projects based on cities from around the globe. It would be great to give them a chance to talk to other students about cities in their countries and find out some basic information. The students are creating travel brochures to destinations around the globe. First hand knowledge would be great.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Re: Skype

I don't know if anyone out there is still looking for a class to Skype with, but I would be interested in having my class of 22 second graders Skype with another class similar in age.  Please let me know if anyone is interested!

    Re: Skype

    Hi Teresa,

You said in your message on ePals.com  that you were looking for a second grade class to Skype with this year.  Have you found one?   I teach 2nd grade in Wisconsin and my class and I would be willing to communicate with you throughout the year.  I will have 20 students and we begin school on Sept. 1st.  Let me know if you are interested.  If you already found classes to Skype with, that is OK too.  Just let me know one way or the other.  Thanks!

    Sincerely,

    Debbie Coats

    Re: Skype

    Hello all,

I apologize if this is the wrong forum but I have been looking feverishly for a class of students between the ages of 10-12 who are interested in basic conversation (as the year goes on the conversation could become more advanced) in both English and Spanish.  I would prefer to skype or email with students in Mexico, Puerto Rico or any other Latin American country. the time difference with Spain would be too much of a hassle.
