    Re: Skype

Hello from Midlothian, Tx. I was so excited to see your post. I am a 1st grade teacher and my grade level will be studying your country for our multicultural night on Dec. 12th. There are 6 team members and each one of us is teaching something on the country of Greece. I am teaching them how to write their name using the greek alphabet. Some other topics include geography, food, crafts, music, etc. We will be doing a rotation in order to squeeze all our lessons in one week. It would be so neat to skype with your students and record it so that we can show our skype lesson that night. We are central time zone. Our day ends at 2:30 but we get ready to go around 2:20 for dismissal. If you are interested, please reply and we can share more ideas. We will begin our unit study the week after Thanksgiving.

    Hi,

I would be interested in working with your class. I teach gifted and talented students in grades 6-8 (ages 11-14) in New Jersey and some of my students are learning French. I would also LOVE to use Skype(I'm just learning about it) Let me know if you would like to work with me on your project.

    Thanks

    Eliane

I teach technology in Geogia of the USA.  I have students who would love to use English and talk about anything.  Please contact me as I think our timezones will not differ significantly.

It might work.  I will e-mail you as well.  Here is my e-mail though.  jjcrowder@gmail.com

If we do it at the beginning of the day for us it might be enough to catch you guys at the end of your school day.

Looking forward to working out the details!

    Hi Jacob,

Thanks for your mail.I am delighted that you are interested in the project!

I'm afraid, though, we will be encountering a critical technical problem here: time difference...I think that in Greece we are at least 7 hours ahead.

I would none the less be very interested in contacting you because we might work something out -  at least give it a try.

    Here's my email: BettyDevetzi@epals.com

Please send me you email address so we can get in touch and discuss some details. Thanks again,

    Elisavet Devetzi

    Re: Skype

I'm an English teacher in public schools in Greece and I am currently working on my PhD. I'm interested in using Skype in the English Language classroom as part of my research and have my students communicate with other speakers of English (native or non-native). The aim is to examine the effects of such software on the development of students' oral competence (speaking and listening skills), intercultural competence etc. Is anyone interested?

    Re: Skype

    Hi,

I am beginning an after school computer club program with 5th and 6th grade students.  I have skype downloaded and have used it many times with my family.  However, I am very interested in allowing my students use it to communicate with students in other states and countries.  We have computer club from 3:30 to 4:30 Eastern Standard time.  Would this work for anybody?

    Hello Mariez:

My name is Trevor Chapman, and I teach in Illinois, in the United States.  I'm thinking about have my students practice using skype as a new project in my Computer Applications class.  They are high school students.  Does this sound like something that might be possible.  I'm a little worried about the time difference!!

    My email is: chapmant@epals.com

    Thanks,

    Trevor Chapman
