I teach grades 6 and 7 (ages 11 - 13) in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. Our 6th grade curriculum is Life Science (ecology and biodiversity, cells and cell reproduction, genetics, body systems, plant studies, animal studies with a particular focus on birds). 7th grade is Earth Science (Earth-moon-sun system, Earth's structure, Earth history particularly our local Ordovician history, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, rock cycle, climate change, renewable and nonrenewable resources, hydrology, weather). I am looking for schools that might want to partner in some type of project in one of these two areas. One possiblity is a genetics study in which we survey our students and their friends/families for the presence of particular dominant traits to see whether those traits are the most prevalent in the population (ex: attached vs. free earlobes). I am open to all ideas.
