    Re: Wanted: grade 2 classes age 7 & 8

    Dell,

I have not been able to find a second grade class to work with outside the US.  Are you still interested in pairing up, or did you find someone else?

This is my first time working on ePals, so I'm not familiar with the permission part of it.

My students have already prepared their emails in The Way We Are theme.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Renee H.

    Hello Dell,

I am a second grade teacher in West Central Illinois.  I am looking for a class to collaborate with.  I have 10 students with rural backgrounds.  Not all of my students live on farms, but we're surrounded by corn fields.  We are not technologically advanced and have limited resources.  I am just looking for a way to get us started.  Please let me know if you are interested in corresponding by email as penpals to get started and then perhaps later on we can work on a project together.

    Re: Wanted: grade 2 classes age 7 & 8

    Renee,

My name is Dell Richardson. I am a second grade ELD teacher in Tucson, Arizona. We do not live in another country but we live in very different part of our country. My students come from some countries all over the world. We are also just beginning a science unit on air and weather. My students do not write very well yet but an ePal would be a very authentic reason to try. Let me know if your Virgin Islands connection doesn't work out and you need a class or another class to write to.

    Dell R.

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your email.  Can you wait another week or two?  I'm going to give it a little while longer, because I have 2 colleagues working on getting classes in the Virgin Islands.  If it doesn't work out, then I would be willing to partner up with your classes.  Yours is the first and only response I got.  Thanks, Renee H.

I know you are looking for students outside the US - but if you can't find, we  woud love to connect with you.  I am a 2nd grade teacher from North Carolina and I imagine our locations are very different.  I have 20 students and could easily involve one of my 2nd grade colleagues to cover both of your classes.  Let me know if you are interested.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer G.

    Wanted: grade 2 classes age 7 & 8

I am a technology teacher working with two grade 2 classes, 26 students in each class.  We are in Brooklyn, NY, USA and would like to exchange emails with grade 2 students outside of the USA. to participate in the Way We Are Project.  Would love to find out about how we are alike and different from others.  If interested, please contact me at rharris8@epals.com.
