Re: Do you have video conference facilities?

    Dear Marina,

That would be wonderful and we are definitely interested!  I agree, there is a lot to learn from each other culturally.

I am actually on vacation from 12 December so we could not arrange any real video conferences until January 2010.  If there is time, however, we could arrange a simple meet and greet VC before I leave; any time to suit yourself before 3pm IST.  We are about 3.5 hours ahead of you so that would be before noon in Greece.

We use ISDN for our video conferences so I hope that works with you.  Let me know what you think and in the meantime I will send you a message with our IP address.

    Karen

You can contact me on karenxec@epals.com

    Our IP address is 203.193.144.99

Re: Do you have video conference facilities?

    Hi Angela,

It would be lovely to work with your school and I am sure our Class I children of the same age would love to hear more about your culture etc.

As we have such a large time difference I expect we would not be able to use video conferencing though.  What other ideas do you have in mind? ie video messages?

    Kind regards

    Karen

    Hi Eddie

We have Aethra Vega Pro video conference camera with ISDN connection.

I think our time difference may be too big to do any regular video conferencing though I am afraid.  I can usually ask the senior Class XI students to stay back but as they are studying for exams soon it may not even be possible for that.

If you are still wishing to work together maybe we could simply use email exchange.

Let me know what you think

    Kind regards

    Karen

    Marina,

My students are so excited to be able to meet your students!  My students want to know about Christmas Traditions in your country.

    Are you familiar with Skype?

Are you interested in e-mail exchanges also?

Please e-mail me at joyb1@epals.com or Skype Me at joyburro

    Please include your e-mail address.

    Thank You

    Joy

Re: Do you have video conference facilities?

Hi Alison Sorry I did not get back to you before now. The project you suggest sounds very interesting but I am unsure how we can video chat due to the time difference. I think we are about 10 1/2 hours ahead of you. I can always ask our Class XI (age 15/16) hostel children to stay back one evening but could not ask Class V children to do the same and that would be the age you are looking at linking. We could still do e-mail exchange though so if that interests you then please let me know. Kind regards Karen

Re: Do you have video conference facilities?

Greetings from Athens, Greece! I've been looking round the net for something like this for my students! I'm teaching an EFL class of 13-15 year old students at B2 level that are really hyped about connecting with students of their own age from other parts of the world. If the offer still stands, arranging a live meeting online would be a wonderful Christmas treat for my students and would make their effort to speak proper English so much more relevant and exciting! As Greece and India are both countries carrying millennia of history and culture I think it would be a great match and we could certainly arrange, after an initial meet & greet, some kind of cultural exchange sessions that would be both educational and fun for both parties. Please let me know if you're interested!

    Angela,

I am sorry for the late response. I did not know how to contact you. My students would love to be big brothers or sisters with your students. They could be Santa's Helpers or elves and send your students holidays letters and card.

Please let me know if you are still interested. I am anixous to hear from you.

    Thank You!

    Joy

Re: Do you have video conference facilities?

    Hello Karen,

My name is Alison. This year I am going to be working with 4th graders in New York City on the global water crisis. I am looking for schools around the world who are in countries that are affected by access to clean drinking water.

I have 7 4th graders (ages 9-10) that will be doing this study this year.

I would like my students to exchange letters or video chat with children.  There would be 4-5 exchanges, wherein my students learn about:

    1. Get to know the children

    2. Learn about their country/community and culture.

    3. Learn about the ways in which water affects their lives (access to clean drinking water, water quality, the way in which water is collected, etc.)

    4. How access to clean water has improved in their community.

I would love to video chat with your class if you are interested in collaborating with us on this project.

Please contact me at alielizadubois@epals.com if you are interested!

    Thanks,

    Alison

Hi Karen. I teach Life Science  (7th grade, 12 & 13 year olds, United States - Ohio). We do have dedicated video conferencing equipment in our school. I'll get the details on the type of system we have to see if it is compatible with your system. What is your system?

Do you have video conference facilities?

We are an English medium school near the Bay of Bengal, India, in a beautiful town known as 'The City of Temples' due to us having over 1,000 temples.

Although Hindi and Oriya are the mother tongue of the children, English is the medium of instruction in all classes and we are looking for schools with video conference facilities to partner with and develop the children's interpersonal, communication, presentation and language skills.

I have children from Class I (age 5/6) to class XI (age 15/16) that would be delighted to find a partner school anywhere in the world to work on whole class projects or as part of a team.  As we are already linked with many schools in the UK we are hoping to find schools elsewhere for the present moment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Karen
