Hi everybody I am reading Penny from Heaven by Jennifer L. Holm.
My friend lent the book to me so that's why I am reading it. This story dates back to 1953. It is about a girl named Penny whose father is Italian and has a big family. Her father died when she was young. Since her father died, both sides of her family do not talk to each other. Now she is 12 and lives with her Mother, Me- Me (her Grandmother) and her Grandfather Pop-Pop, but she also visits her father's family. It has lots of plots along the way, in each couple of chapters. She is banned from swimming because her mother is scared she will catch polio. I think in the end of the story Penny will be happy and both sides of her family will talk to each other. I think Penny is funny, and a great role model. She always can get into trouble and make funny comments. This book explains to me how life was back in the 1950's for a girl much like Penny. In real life the author of the book is Penny's daughter which makes this book a Biography. I would suggest this book to anybody. Has anybody read this book?
