Re: Enthusiastic Greek students 13-16 are looking for ePals!

    Hello,

I'm a Humanities teacher in a small town in midwest Wisconsin, USA.  Our charter school, Green Lake Global and Environmental Academy, is ready to exchange emails with your students.  We have been studying culture and are very excited about exchanging information.  I hope you are still looking for classrooms to engage in discussions.  In our Humanities class there are 18, 12-14 year old students.  We are also interested in projects.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Mary Hunter

Re: Enthusiastic Greek students 13-16 are looking for ePals!

I see through the exchanges here that you have already connected with a class. Do you have other teachers that are interested in starting an exchange? I have 110 students in all, but could restrict it to my two honors classes (40) if numbers are limited. Actually, they will be working in groups, so they could just have a representative of each group make the contact. We are about to start a unit on Ancient Greece and I would love to have my students be able to contact students living in Greece about the influence of the history around them. We live in New Jersey near Philadelphia, PA and not far from the Jersey Shore, so my students may be able to tell your students about that. I would like to start with e-mail and eventually try Skype.

    Hi Mary!

I talked to my fellow teacher.  We are all set to start communicating.  Our travel club is meeting next Thursday.  I am taking them to the computer lab to get set up on ePals.  Can you send me the emails of your students so I can pair them up with my students on Thursday?  Thanks!

Mary - I am a Middle School and High School teacher in northern Minnesota USA.  I have about 30 middle school students - grade 8,  13-14 years old who would love a classroom to classroom exchange of letters/emails.  I would be more than happy to discuss our interest in class to class interaction about any and all themes.  My email is hejsan@epals.com  My students of course would need to write in English, and I think ePals in Greece would be a great experience for them.

Thanks for considering us for a class to class ePal exchange.  Eric Northard, Grand Rapids High School, Grand Rapids, MN

    Mary,
YES!!!  That would be GREAT!  We meet in two weeks on Thursday.  This Thursday we took the students to see the Lightening Thief (it's a new movie about Greek Mythology).  The movie was ok, but it got us really excited about our trip!  I am going to talk to the other teacher about getting our students set up for ePals and getting their email addresses.  I'm so excited you responded!  My email is MissRay@epals.com
Again I'm REALLY excited about this!!!
