I'm an English teacher in a junior high school in the state of Jalisco in Mexico and I'm interested in, but my students are going to start to learn English on August 23th, then I think we can begin to email your students in September but the topics will be personal infomation then we can talk about hobbies etc, etc. I plan to do this activity all scholar year long from September 2010 to July 2011.

I will have about 20 beginners students in the ages of 11 and 12, if you are interested in, just let me know.

Thanks for your interest!  I think your school sounds like it would be a very good match for mine as well.  I'll have 2 classes with a total of 52 students in September.  If you would be willing to pair some of your students or have them share an ePal, I'd really appreciate it.  Actually, I would like to pair some of my students as well so I think we can write about 42-48 emails total, and I can adjust the number of pairs a little bit depending on the number of students /emails you will have.

I am a Language Arts 7th grade teacher in Florida.

I already several schools that I will be collaborating with on various projects and would like to  find ePals for my remaining students. They range in ages 12-14. My class is a Language Arts class and I stress the importance of communication. Looking for ePals from out of the country to spend a school year collaborating on projects and learning from each other. We would like to know what it is like living in other countries. What is similar? What is different? We prefer to correspond by email and to write twice a month.

I'm quite interested by  your profile because it really looks like what I'm looking for !

Next September I will have 3 classes,  aged 13 (or so..) . I don't know the exact number of students yet but  they should be about  60*.  Most of them have started learning English as a second language for one year. We could exchange on simple topics such as physical description, family, school (do's and don'ts), hometown, likes and dislikes, hobbies, food (recipes..)etc. We could exchange e-mails once a month.

* If I have more students than you, some of my pupils could share the same ePal.

Thanks for your reply.  I think that the numbers of students that will be participating at each of our schools is too different.  I will have 52 students, so even if I pair them, that is still 26.  Sorry!

We are expecting to have about 15 pupils in our club ( we could accept up to 20 )

We think our pupils will be ready to send an email once a month ( we need a little time to prepare the email )

The pupils are 12 or 13 years old.

Thanks for your interest.  I think my students would enjoy learning about French culture, schools, hobbies, etc.  However,  I think we should check a little more information before deciding to pair our schools. 

How many students do you think will join your English club?  Also, how often are you hoping to write?  I think we could only write once a month. 

Also, you mention that your school has students from age 11 to 15, but the students in the club have only been learning English for a year and a half, so how old are the students who will be writing?

Hi, we are going to start a lunchtime English club next September.

Our pupils are French and have been learning English for about one year and a half.

Our school is located near Paris with about 600 pupils aged between 11 and 15.

We would be interested in communicating through emails with young English learners. The topics could be about school, hobbies, food, towns, holidays and so on.

We do think we could be a good match with your project.

I'm currently teaching English to about 50 Japanese junior high school students (age 13-14) in Japan.  We are wanting to start an email exchange about 1x per month beginning in September.  My students have only studied English for about a year and a half, so we want to do the exchange with another group of English language learners around the same age and ability level.
