    Hi Matt !

Yes I'm still very interested!! I'd like one my class to work with one of yours ( if that's ok with you )!  I have 30 students in this class. I have done this last year for the first time and it worked out quite well for most of my classes. My students were really thrilled to have American ePals! I haven't got the parents' consent papers yet either so I'm not in a hurry at all. It will give me time to work on the letters with my students too. My project is about the same as yours. We should get on well :-).

I'll send you a list of  students with their "profile " as soon as possible! Do you mind matching them?

    Thanks!!

    Céline S.

ps: I teach in a little town called Chauny. It's about 2 hours drive north of Paris. What about you ?

    pps: My address is celinesimon@epals.com

    Re: 6th grade ePals wanted

    Hello Celine!

I got your message about our classes communicating through ePals. I hope that you are still interested. I think my kids would love to have ePals from France. I had a question or two for you. Do you have 30 students total in your two classes or do you have 30 students in each class, 60 total? I have about 25 students in each of my 3 classes, so I have close to 80 total students. I could choose just one or two classes to communicate with you and your students.

I am just beginning this process and have never done it before. I have not sent home parent consent papers yet, but will do that soon. I think a video would be great and we could probably send out the first emails, but it may be a few weeks. My biggest goal for doing this is to have them practice writing with good grammar as well as learn about people from around the world. I think that they will all enjoy it. Let me know what you think and I'll start moving forward with my students.

    Thanks

    Matt Harriger

    Re: 6th grade ePals wanted

    Hi Matt!

My name's Céline Simon and I teach English in the north of France. We're just back to school! I teach 2 classes of  about 30 6 th graders this year. I see them 4 times a week. they would love to have American ePals!!!  They 've been studying English for about 2 or 3 years but they still are beginners ( they won't be able to write about books they read in English ).

They haven't got ePals address yet ( I'm waiting for the parents'consentment) but, if you're interested , maybe you're students could write first ? And I was thinking of making a video ( students talking about themselves ) for the end of September!

Let me know if that would be ok with you !

    thanks

    Céline Simon

    6th grade ePals wanted

Hello from Mooresville, North Carolina.  My name is Matt Harriger and I am a 6th grade reading teacher at Mooresville Intermediate School.  Our school district has gone through what we call a "Digital Conversion"- meaning all of our students have Apple MacBook laptops that they use everyday.

I am looking for some ePals that are also around the same age 10-12 from anywhere in the world.  I am interested in having email pen pals to practice writing, possibly having students read books to discuss and definitely using Skype to have some additional interaction between our classes.  I want students to practice these things as well as learning about different cultures from around the country and even the world.  I have three classes during the day that I teach totaling almost 90 students.  It would be good if you had a similar amount, but if you had between 25 and 30 students that would be good.

We are looking forward to meeting people.  Please let me know if you are interested.

    Thanks

    Matt Harriger
