Re: Books always better than movies?

I think that the books are always better than the movies. Take "The Outsiders" for example, the book is a lot better than the movie.

I think that books are way better than the movies.  For example, Harry Potter books create pictures in your head wthout watching the movie.

I love reading, but I love watching movies, too.  I prefer to read a book and afterwards, see the movie because we can compare.  When we read a book, we see differently the characters and the decor.

Galen I totally believe you. I went to see the Percy Jackson movie hoping it would be good, but I was wrong! It was nothing like the book. For example, Dionysus, Ares, and Clarisse weren't even in the movie!

Most of the time I think the original books are much better than the movies. In Percy Jackson they changed the movie completely and that really upset me because I enjoyed the books so much. In other cases like Twilight Eclipse, I think they are both equal because the thrill and emotion that was in the book was also in the movie.

I think books are ALWAYS better than movies because they have a lot more detail and you can always go back and try to figure out what something means if you didn't get it. In the movie theaters you can't replay. So I like books better than movies! ~Bridget

I think books are always better then movies because the joy is reading. You learn more than watching the movie.

I think that you are right. A movie sometimes even ruins the book.

Re: Books always better than movies?

I have not read "Harry Potter" but, I have seen about 4 or 5 of the movies. I think that most of the time that the books are better than the movies. However, I saw "The Last Song" before I read the book. I personally liked the movie better. That is the only movie that I thought was better than the book. I also read the Twilight series and the books are way better than the movies. I really think that it depends on the book and the movie and if they are really staying true to the book.

Re: Books always better than movies?

The reason books are better than the movie is because the books are the original. So movies always leave out something. Most books that are movies are good movies.

Hi I'm Madilyn and I live in Oklahoma. Movies add things that don't happen in the books, that's what aggrevates me. If you watch the movie first and then read the book there are things that don't happen and you are always wondering why it didn't happen!

Re: Books always better than movies?

Hi Emma I really like books more than movies and I rarely like the movie more than the book. For example I don't like how they turned the Lightning Thief into a horrible representation of the book. I love watching movies! I'm practically a movie junkie but I also love books so it's pretty hard to watch a great great book be turned into a decent movie. One movie that I did like better than the book was Avalon High. The book was really predictable and I loved how the movie switched it up (even if it was a cheesy Disney channel movie). Carly :)
