It is very amazing! We have sports, fun activities, and many other things. It has many historical places like St. Augustine, FL which is the oldest city in the USA.

Re: What is the USA like?

I live in North Carolina, in a small town in one of the best states in the USA. Or at least that's my opinion. There's a lot of sports, football, baseball, paintball, NASCAR , tennis, soccer etc. in the USA. But out of them all, NASCAR is the best in my opinion. NASCAR (National Association Of Stock Car Auto Racing) is an American stock-car series, that goes around the country, and 1 to 2 races in Mexico. It is one of the most growing sports in the country, and still, in my opinion, the best. It is also disliked by many different people, they say it is a "worthless redneck sport", which it is not.

Hi Elisha! I'm Shykemia. That's a great question. The USA is an amazing country where you can celebrate any religion or any tradition. My family celebrates Christianity and we worship God.

It is a nice and unique place. We speak English, we listen to rap, pop, jazz, and many more types of music. In the United States our religion is Christianity. We have a presidential government system which means that we have a president. We have many traditional things in the U.S. such as museums and things like that. So U.S. is a good and great place for you and your family.

Re: What is the USA like?

Funny you should want to come here, because most Americans are itching to get out. lol

What defines American culture depends on where you go. You'll find that your average New Yorker is vastly different from your average Texan. Same country, different cultures. While most people define the USA as either a 'melting pot' or a 'salad bowl' I prefer to call it a "fruit smoothie" because while yes, we are pretty well mixed together, you still can taste the distinct flavors of different cultures. The next time you come to the States, I suggest seeing the Rockies, I promise you won't regret it.

How I envy you, you've seen more of my country than I have, something common among American folk.

Many people regard Americans as arrogant or stupid, however, I think those people are judging the people based on the government. I must warn you, Americans are NOTHING like our government (or at least not any that I've met). We are generally loyal to our military, but we aren't fond of politics or the people invovled in them. The fat and lazy stereotype is partially true, Americans do tend to be lazy and obese (except for in Colorado, many people are involved in "outdoorsy" activities and on top of that, Colorado has the lowest obesity rate.)

I'm sorry if I didn't help you much with answering your question, I tried.

Re: What is the USA like?

I live in Texas near San Antonio in a small town. Living there is great even though it gets really hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I also lived in New Mexico and Louisiana, but I lived in Texas the most. The barbecue and Mexican food here are great. Texas was under the rule of 6 countries and they were France, Spain, Mexico, USA and Texas itself. I can't remember the sixth one though. But since the US was influenced by so many cultures, it just depends on where you live.

Hi, I am Chycuria and I live in the USA. It is a wonderful place to be. You get to do different things in your hometown. We get to go to the mall, go to the store, and you get to have fun. If you want to do other things then you can. Anything you want to do then you can do it whenever you want to do it like if you want to go to the movies then you can go.

Re: What is the USA like?

Hi I'm Matt from Ohio so I don't know what Hollywood is like but I know that almost all the famous people live there. The Grand Canyon is a really deep canyon. I would not recommend going there unless you are with a guide and have lots of water because it's really hot there. Florida is a nicely weathered place but it can get really hot but there is an ocean nearby. So in Ohio it's just now starting to get nice, we usually have harsh winters, and very nice summers. Please consider everything that I said.

Re: What is the USA like?

Hi, I live in Texas.  However, I have lived in California and often visit other states.  Texas, as well as all of the U.S., has many different cultures that influence cities. For example, in Texas, there are many German towns.  On the other hand, San Antonio and other south Texas cities have a lot of Mexican aspects. I love America's diversity.

Re: What is the USA like?

    Elisha,

My name is Nell. I have lived in Chicago, Illinois all of my life. To be honest with you, the culture is probably not much different, but the people, food, and fashion probably are a lot different. In Chicago, there are two foods that really make it special. 1.) The Chicago Style Hot Dog. This consists of a 100% beef hot dog on a poppy-seed bun. With Mustard, but no ketchup. Then you add celery salt, onions, hot peppers, tomatoes, relish, etc. They are really good! 2.) Deep Dish Pizza. If you have not heard of this, it is just what it sounds like. Its like a pie, but without the top and the insides are pizza toppings, just like a regular pizza. But, they are much better!! :D

    Hope this helped! :D
