    Re: How do you celebrate?

Hello, I am called Mayala Moses and am glad to join with your school in sharing about our environment, community and our experience.

Our school is called Bajja Community Primary School, found in Uganda, in the rural part of Uganda called Masaka.  This school was built to cater for disadvantaged students in the community who were not going to school due to lack of finances, since their parents died and others didn’t have work to do.  So we are glad to share with you our experience in our community.

We have 13 teachers and 280 students from 3-15 years.  Our motto is “rise and shine”.  We study from Monday to Friday apart from the candidate class, which studies also on Saturday.  School starts from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. every day, and the lower section studies half a day.  At school we provide them with porridge (mixture of water and maize flour); we would have provided lunch in form of food but we are limited with funds so students are encouraged to come with their own food.  Our system has 3 terms in the year.  We teach English, mathematics, social studies, science, and religious education.  Our uniform is Maroon and white in color.  Uganda as a country is found in the continent of Africa, our population is about 19 million people, and we speak different languages (but the official language is English).

Dear Aruna, hi, this is Leena From the Millennium School Noida.  I have seen that you have offered a project on folk tales for the ISA.  We too have offered Traditional Tales for the ISA.  What I wanted to know is that have you been able to find any partners?  I haven't been successful not yet, anyways.

    Regards,

    Re: How do you celebrate?

Hello, I am a Tunisian teacher teaching pupils aged from 12 to 15. I'm interested in your project. We don't have Christmas. It's not a tradition in our culture but I would appreciate if my pupils know about it and understand it. We can exchange how we celebrate.

Looking forward to a quick reply.

    Re: How do you celebrate?

I have one student that is really interested in learning about Diwali.  Can we get in touch to set something up with one of your students?  My students are living in an American City and come mostly from Hispanic backgrounds.  8 students are participating in this project.  If you would like to begin an email relationship please email me at andersonsixth@epals.com.

    Thanks,

    Kristine
