    Re: Man-made Natural Disasters?, India

Hi my name is George and I'm really afraid of a tsunami. I felt so small when they are coming. I watch movies like that and it's scary.

Re: Man-made Natural Disasters?, United States

I think that the earth is warming on a natural cycle and we may be speeding it up. Look back in time, earth has its heating and cooling stages and when I watched the history channel they were saying we are slowly approaching the more heated stage. That is just my opinion.

I think anyone and everyone is responsible for many of our natural disasters in the world. I just think that pollution causes most of the problems.

    Re: Man-made Natural Disasters?, Belgium

Some natural disasters are caused by man. For example: in 1980 an oil rig was digging in a lake and underneath the lake was a salt mine. They drilled a hole through it and caused the water to rush through the mine and by lunch they created a whirlpool.

I think that humans themselves are a disaster we've gone from being people who care for their surroundings to people who don't even care about our neighbors. In the future we might not even care for ourselves.

I think that everything we have ever done, at any point in our life will definitely affect the earth in one way or another. Most of the time you kill the earth by littering and not recycling.

I agree, I think some disasters are our fault, but then again some aren't. For example, cutting down trees can be a disaster, but thats a man-made disaster. But, having a hurricane or tornadoes is a natural disaster because you can't stop it from happening.

We are a big part of changing the world and creating worst disasters.

Natural disasters are caused by the things we do everyday. For example, all the pollution from our cars is one cause for the disasters. Many other things we do cause these disasters as well.

I agree with you! People have been trying to blame natural disasters on other factors besides humans,  but you wrote the truth so people can see and understand!

Yes, since fossil fuels are damaging the atmosphere. The sun has direct rays on Earth causing the polar ice caps to melt, which later on will cause a global foods crisis in the future.

I believe it can be our fault. I think our scientists had shifted the earth to make hurricane Katrina hit Mississippi and New Orleans. It was a natural disaster, but it wasn't originally going to hit us. They did that because they wanted to see how their improvements on evacuation plans work and from the looks of it they have more planning to do.

There is always the posibility it is our fault. I personily think that not all natural disaters are our fault. Some? Yes, but not all. This is only my opinion though.
