Subject: FW: We are at 131  schools- help us get to 150

    Sign up at http://delvallehighschool.wufoo.com/forms/world-class-schools-membership-form/

We can sign you up and try to help others as well.  How many schools are trying to help out?

We offer school to school video conferencing and competitions.  We work with the YMCA and provide much of the Youth in Government programs.  Mock Trials, Debates, Youth Parliaments, Hearings, Appeals Court, and great many more-

We can probably get you some polycom software to download on the computers at the school.  That with a web camera will allow you to do video conferencing.  It is much better than skype and allows for multiple schools to be on at the same time.

    I hope this helps.

Look at my Vimeo page for some of the conferences. http://vimeo.com/21863097

    Subject: Some Interesting Video Conferences

Here are some interesting free video conferences for secondary schools 7-12

    Thanks

I'm Michael Cunningham and I'm the Director of World Class Schools.  WCS is a teacher led, teacher directed group who is the world's leader in video conferencing.  We do a whole series of video conferencing.  Please look at http://worldclasss.livejournal.com for more information on these programs.

    YMCA Videos  http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/video/ymca-international-mock-trial?xg_source=msg_appr_video
    or    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/video/international-mock-trials

For information on exciting YMCA Mock trials we are offering this fall please look at the attachments.  We will send you the cases and information as soon as we get it.  Beginning in Sept. we will offer weekly scrimmages with other schools then a pre- district Tournament on Nov. 3, 4, 5.  This will not cost you any money.  All we need to know is if you rather do it web conferencing or video conferencing.  We will do the rest.  In April you can go up against schools from all over the world.

Register for YMCA Mock trial competitions for the fall at http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22CGDR5VQTA/

All of these are free of charge and are meant to help you prepare for district.  We will have schools from all over the state and other countries involved.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Cunningham

Re: Class wanted from anywhere: New Zealand

Over the course of the last several weeks some great changes have taken place at World Class Schools.  We have started several major projects:

YMCA Mock Trials- A National and International Mock Trial Program using the Texas YMCA Mock trial case.  We will provide the training and help set up programs in your YMCA area.  Imagine these vital programs can be part of your YMCA almost immediately.  This will help increase a heretofore little used aspect of your clientele- hihg school age students and their teachers.

International High School Public Debate- A three person (team) parliamentary style debate that would allow students the opportunity to compete in the World Schools Debate Competition
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/high-school-public-debate

Both of these programs have been incorporated into different initiatives.  Each initiative was created  for maximum success. A special thanks goes out to TakingIt Global. They have set up blogs for each of projects- http://mocktrials.tiged.org/
This will allow mentors to help students all over the world.

    World Class 2011-2012 Initiatives

    1. Texas YMCA Project- Video Conferencing with Texas High Schools- Nov. 3,4,5, 2011 Video Mock Trial Competition
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/world-class-schools-and-ymca

    2. Gambian YMCA Project- Five Gambian High Schools- They do both Mock Trials and YMCA Mock Trials
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/wcs-gambia-ymca-national-high

    3. Guatemalan YMCA Project- Five Guatemalan High Schools- They do both Mock Trials and YMCA Mock Trials
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/wcs-guatemala-high-school

    4. Morocco Project- This is by far the largest of all the initiatives.  Fifteen high schools compete world wide in mock trials and public debates.
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/wcs-morocco-national-high

    5. Youth Parliament- A world wide initiative to bring all students into World Youth Parliament discussing problems plaguing the youth of the world.
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/the-ymca-international-world

    6. International YMCA Tournament- Mock Trial April 19,20, 21, 2012
    http://www.educationbeyondborders.org/profiles/blogs/world-class-schools-and-ymca-1
Each Initiative is supported by video conferencing or web conferencing abilities, TakingIt Global web support, TETN, and various other political and NGO entities.

    7. Georgian Project.  Five high schools from the country of Georgia join with WSC and the YMCA of Georgia to begin mock trial and debates in Georgia.  http://www.worldclassschools.tumblr.com

Do you want to begin this program at your YMCA?  Do you want to join the fasting growing networks of teachers using technology in the classroom and promote youth involvement in politics?  If you do, now is the time to act.  Now what we need is your support.  We would like to be able to formally use your organization's name on our new support page of our website.  We would also like help securing attorney volunteers or college student volunteers for our mentor program.  We can do this in your country if you would like, let us know.  We need your help for this to be successful.

    Mentor Program

    1. Thanks to TakingIt Global each high school will have their own account and the ability to have a personal mentor- a professional attorney and a college student who could help volunteer and direct both the teacher and the their team.  TakingIt Global has already given us blogs, video chats, and a very nice program.

    2. This program will work very well if can get the word out and that is where you can really help us.  We need to get the word out through your contacts that we are looking for volunteers.  People who want to make a difference in the world by volunteering their time to make a difference.  They have to interact and help students (0ne school of their choice) somewhere in the world.

    3. By doing this we helping schools all over the world and we helping our local schools. The interesting aspect of these projects is the fact that we are very interdependent in the world and by bringing the world closer together we are able to help our local school become a world class school- by bringing the world into our school.

Are you the type of person who would like to make a difference, make a difference right here and right now?  This difference we are looking for is not money because it doesn't take money to make a change- that would be too easy. Instead it takes some of your time but the time you spend will be future leaders of the world.  Now, if you are the type of person who would like to shape the future of the world- then you are the type of person who we are looking for to help us help schools. That is the person we need.  Since you are the leaders of group who impact youth, we would greatly appreciate your support in this matter.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Cunningham
    Director
    World Class Schools

We hope to count on your continued support and help in project.  Let us help you help yourself and your students.

    Hi Euripides

I have a school in England who would be keen to swap with you. They are a little younger though. I'm currently putting together a site for people to connect who want to swap postal projects. It's up at www.schoolswaps.net, and I'm just starting to get it together, but do please mention it there, and I'll try and hook you up with some classes.

    Greetings Mr Lypy,

My name is Edgar K Audelo. I am an ePal member and I stumble upon your name and website. Honestly, I am very impressed by your creativity and academic potential. I am writing you this email because I would like to make an intercultural alliance.

I am the English Coordinator at Instituto Senda (www.senda.edu.mx), the school is affiliated to the International Baccalaureate (www.ibo.org) since 2006.  As part of the school, I would like to have our students from six grades have online communication with schools around the world.

Mr. Lypy, we would like to be part of your project.

Re: Class wanted from anywhere: New Zealand

    Hello from Texas!

My name is Martha and I am a 1st grade teacher in Midlothian, TX. I would love to skype with your students. We speak English and I have 20 students. We skype once a week with students across the district and all over the world. We would love to do a book talk with your students if that is possible. We can read and share our favorite books and learn about our cultures. We are looking forward to finding a class that we can skype with the remainder of the school year. We are a MAC district and I use lots of technology integration in my classroom. We are hitting the web 2.0 movement and we are really excited about the opportunities that it may bring. We also would love to blog with your class if that is possible. My students have accounts ready to go and have not been able to find a partnering class. Middle school students would be our preference since my little ones need your guidance but we will blog with anyone our age as well. Please reply here or email me at mlackey@epals.com if you are interested. My skype account is marthalackey

Hope to hear from you soon

    from Texas

    Hi Courtney

As a rural school in Arlington, Washington, USA, it would be exciting for my students to get a more global perspective.  If you are interested, we are a weekly club, ranging in age from 11 to 14 and ready for action! I am definitely interested!

    Sincerely,

    Deb Hepper
