Hi Angelika, I am a special educator in Vermont and work with students in seventh and eighth grade, about 12 to 14 years of age.  Most of the students I work with are in regular classes with their non-disabled peers.  The disabilities range from learning disability, emotional disability, attention deficit with hyperactivity, learning impaired and multiple disabilities.  I also co-teach an English and a math class with the regular education teachers.  I would be very interested in corresponding with either letters or e-mails.  My name is Pat.

Hi, My name is Gulsafak Aslan.I am an English teacher at İsmail Erez Primary School in Turkey. My school is in the capital city of Ankara. We have social and successful students despite our school's lack of space; facilities- both educational and cultural. We don't have many classrooms, our classes are crowded, but our students win many promising awards at local and national competitions, get good marks and help their physically and mentally retarded friends educated in their regular classrooms as a govermental project which is called mainstreaming and applied nearly all around the world.

My colleaques and I have started a new european project about special education students in our school and searching for a partner school. Our students are quite intelligent and very eager to work with you in this project and share our knowledge with teachers and students around the world. If you feel ready for this work just contect. Please e-mail me if you are interested and I will send you the project details.

School's name: İsmail Erez Primary School (Students are from 6-14 years old.

    Hi Angelika,

My name is Lauren. I'm a Special Education teacher from New Jersey in the United States. I'd love to exchange emails with you and any other teachers who'd be willing to share ideas. I have taught students with specific learning disabilities, multiple handicaps, behavioral disabilities, moderate and severe autism, and Down Syndrome. For the past 3 years I have taught students in a self-contained classroom in a public school setting, but have also taught in pull-out/resource room and inclusion settings. Currently I'm looking for some ideas about infusing life skills and social skills into my students' school day and expanding a Social Skills Group for students that I helped to start last year.

My email is lmahoney1@epals.com . Looking forward to hearing from and collaborating with you!

4th and 5th Grade Special Education Teacher

Re: Special Education Teacher ePALS?, Germany

If you want to know more about Special Ed. in the United States go to http://www.cec.sped.org//AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home

I get e-mails from them daily telling me about different things going on in the United States.  I did not pay to join, I just signed up for their e-mail notifications.
