Jack Crowell is a professor of mathematics at Delta College, a community college in the Bay City, Saginaw, Midland area of Michigan. He has worked at the college for 42 years, previously serving as a teacher in the Ivory Coast from 1962-64 as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Crowell has been very involved with global education at Delta College. Delta College has been involved with Kenya for over 20 years. For the past 15 years Crowell has been the Director of the Kenya Rural Schools Computer and Book Program. With no budget and a total reliance on volunteers, the program is mostly a hobby for Crowell.  Over the years, the program has shipped more than  6,000 computers and tons of books, which have benefited more than 500 schools throughout Kenya. Crowell has traveled to Kenya nine times and considers it his second home.
