Bio: Dr. Howie DiBlasi

Dr. Howie DiBlasi is recently retired from the Durango School District where he served as the district’s C.I.O. (Chief Information Officer). During DiBlasi’s 30+ year career in education, he was also recognized as “Vocational Teacher of the Year” for the State of Arizona and nominated as a finalist in the “Top Secondary Leaders in America.” Dr. DiBlasi’s interactive seminars on 21st Century Learning, Visual Literacy and Interactive Video Conferencing emphasize the utilization of ePals as the main communication component for a global community connection. His presentations are fun, educational, high energy and full of practical, take-home value. He is known as a highly energetic, compassionate and approachable speaker. He is a trainer that blends humor, applicable stories of best practice and high levels of audience involvement. Over the past fifteen years, he has presented programs, courses and speeches to thousands of administrators, teachers, technology specialists and professionals around the country. Dr. DiBlasi served as a state board member to the Colorado Association of Leaders in Educational Technology and is the President of the I.S.T.E – Interactive Video Conferencing Special Interest Group. eSchool news recently quoted, “Di Blasi thinks exponentially. He may be newly retired, but he's just getting started! I can only imagine what he can do with additional time to look for solutions. His TCEA workshop was one of the most dynamic conference presentations I have attended in some 30 years. Howie is charged with energy, willing to share, and open to suggestions.”
