    I live in Michigan, around the Great Lakes. There is a stone found in the Great Lakes called a petoskey stone. It's a fossil. You can't find it anywhere else in the world. Here's what it looks like:

    North Carolina Culture:

    The Cherokee Indians - The Cherokee Indians have always lived in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  There are stone tools and fluted spear points to confirm their existence.  The Cherokee Indians hunted elk and bears with great bows.

    The geographical area in which you live often includes particular cultural things that are unique to that area. For example, kilts are a cultural symbol of Scotland. You could even say baseball is a cultural symbol of the USA and hockey is one of Canada.
