Classroom Instruction:
Day One:?

  1. After viewing both classmates' and ePals' presentations, students reflect upon what they have learned about natural disasters.??Ask students to respond to the essential and supporting questions.
  2. Evaluate?natural disaster presentations?for accuracy of information presented, fulfillment of all criteria, and engagement of the audience (see Culminating Activity Rubric ).
  3. Review email exchanges (see Email Rubric ).

Writing Email:
Day Two:
In emails to their ePals, encourage your students share their personal experiences with natural disasters. These experiences might include tornado drills during the school day, a relative?s loss because of a hurricane, or a personal experience and the damage that resulted.
