The Way We Are: A Global Classroom Exchange Project

You are welcome to participate alongside 40 ePALS classrooms from Canada and the developing world who will begin an exciting online twinning project available in both French and English. Students from these two different worlds will get to know one another via email and a moderated discussion board. Topics for discussion will include:
  • School Life,
  • The Environment,
  • Friends, Family and Community,
  • Discrimination,
  • Human Rights and Children's Rights,
  • Health Issues,
  • Economics,
  • International Development Issues

  • Click here to find out how to use these Project Topics and Questions in your classroom.

ePALS Teacher's Projects in Action: The concept of "The Way We Are" has come to us from an ePALS teacher in Israel, David Chernobilsky, and ePALS gratefully acknowledges the use of his idea and the growth of it into this project.

What is "The Way We Are"?

This email project answers the following questions:

  • When I hear the name of a country, what is the first image that comes to my mind?

  • When I meet and ask questions of someone from that country, what new information have I gathered about this country?

  • What do I know about Canada's, and other country's, involvement in the development of that country?

  • What is my new impression of that country, now that I have all of this information?
